Publisher's summary

Nothing ruins a peaceful morning walk like finding a blood-spattered body. And Daisy Greene and Rose Forrest, sisters and co-owners of Champagne Taste, really need a peaceful morning walk. They have enough on their minds already. Christmas is right around the corner, business is brisk, and their little antiques district of Old Towne is being plagued with petty thievery and vandalism. Murder is just not in the game plan.

If finding bodies lying around walking trails isn't enough to destroy a perfectly good day, Daisy's ex-husband, state trooper Bill Greene, shows up to investigate the murder. Nosy by nature anyway, Daisy takes Bill's presence as a challenge to find the murderer.

When Daisy and Rose start asking questions, things get hairier. Someone begins stalking them. Daisy receives threatening letters and is brutally attacked. Their determination grows when clues lead to a missing priceless diamond and the man Daisy is dating becomes the next victim.

With the help of their eccentric mother, Angela, and their hormonally exuberant dog, Malcolm, they follow the clues to catch a killer.

Fun cozy mystery.

Roses and Daisies and Death, Oh My! was an extremely enjoyable cozy mystery featuring a delightful cast of characters. For the most part the story is quick paced and lighthearted, as you'd expect, and there were definitely plenty of laughs to be had, especially thanks to my favorite character in the book, Malcolm the dog! For the most part I thought Kim Rossi's narration was quite good, but a couple of her characters voices were, as another review noted, rather off-putting. I do understand the desire to give each character their own distinct voice/sound, but in this case I think I'd have found the overall listening experience more satisfying had Ms. Rossi simply narrated the entire novel in her regular voice. That being said, it was still quite enjoyable and I would certainly listen to more stuff narrated by Ms. Rossi. I was given a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Good story

small-business, small-town, family-dynamics, friendship, murder-investigation, cozy-mystery, Maryland, verbal-humor, situational-humor

The book is a fine cozy about friends who run shops and have interesting friends and relatives. Of course there's a murder! Their sleuthing is complicated by a goofy mother of one of them, a detective who is an ex-husband, an amorous new dog ,a spate of petty thefts, and a fabulous stolen diamond. The book is a riot!
The narrator has a very interesting style.
I won the audio in a giveaway.

Delightful

This was an absolutely delightful story. It was fun, exciting, and kept me company on a very long drive. The narrator was great with different voices and inflection that really kept me interested. The story itself was full of intrigue and action and character development. Loved it! Can't wait to see and hear the next one.

I LOVE these characters!

I LOVE these characters! Daisy, Rose & Angela make the best trip, with each of them having their own unique quirks. Angela, their mother, is a total goof ball and adds comedic relief to the story. I really enjoyed all the interwoven story lines & the true mystery of solving a murder while a killer is on the loose. Between the recent burglaries and the murder, there’s a lot happening in town! Daisy’s ex is the chief police officer which only adds to the tension. There is a lot going on, but also perfectly balanced between humor, suspense & drama. A great cozy through and through!

Great Cozy Mystery!

This is the first book in the Daisy and Rose Mystery Series. This is a fun cozy mystery, entertaining, and intriguing. The characters are great and the storyline is well written and captivating. Kim Rossi did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series, Roses Are Dead My Love. story was good

The story was good but I wish I’d read the book instead. The narration had a lot of voice variety but the dialogue tags stood out to me. It sounded edited and pieces together. Some of the voices were a little hard on the nerves but they were all distinctive.

Roses and Daisies and Death, Oh My!

A thoroughly enjoyable cozy mystery. There’s burglary, murder, breaking and entering, and a hormonally challenged pup. Enough mystery and twists to keep me guessing and humor to keep me chuckling.

Both the author and narrator did a great job, and without a doubt I’ll checking out the next book in the series.

Like the story, but...

I enjoyed this book and will look for more books in the series to read.

I had a difficult time with the narration. The narrator's normal voice was great but the character voices were, to me, off-putting. The two main characters sounded so much alike I couldn't tell who was speaking at times. Some of the secondary characters had either strange accents or weird high-pitch or whiny voices. It wasn't terrible, but I found myself making faces a lot while I listened.

I stress, the story was enjoyable and would read more

Funny cute mystery

Cute little story about 2 sisters who live & work together. Their mother, who's a bit eccentric, buys them a dog that turns out to be extremely curious & helps them solve all the mysteries. Keeps you pulled in different directions as to who is killing and attacking everyone. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
