Publisher's summary

For Noah Mackie, life is finally back on track. He has a great support system, a promised promotion is on its way, and he's finally getting the hang of this single father thing. But when the job falls through and his neighbor's matchmaking efforts become more aggressive, Noah is in for yet another unwanted detour. With his career and two spirited daughters to worry about, he doesn't have time for dating - especially not someone like Cassie Ellis, his girls' beautiful and sophisticated dance instructor, who is about as open and approachable as a brick wall.

Rough around the Edges Meets Refined is about two people who think they know exactly what they want but who have no idea what they really need. It's about learning that people aren't always what they seem and that sometimes life's detours take you exactly where you need to go.

Smiled Sooo Often Listening to This Story!

Great character development and growth. An enjoyable story that did not involve graphic sex.
I can't wait to start the third story in this wonderful collection.
Excellent narrator too.

Cute story

Cute story and I liked the humor- ultimate light reading- but for real value it cud have used more of a plot...otherwise I really enjoyed it!

Sweet story, good vibes

Noah is such a nice, normal guy who actually communicates what he wants and what he's thinking, refreshing. Found myself laughing and smiling at his jokes and gestures. Also so cool to hear more about the girls and their different personalities and interests. Fun to catch up with Emma 3 years later.

Not quite Harlequin

This was a very good story. Cassie is so not looking for love. Her last marriage left her damaged and isolated. Noah and his girls are just what she needs. Low on sex, perfect on love and emotions.

Vacuum!

For many reasons, but much for this hilarious use of the vacuum, I highly enjoyed this book. I literally laughed out loud each time it made an appearance.

Some of the plot line was predictable, but the characters are engaging and the story was fun and kept me entertained.

A Romance So Clean, It Squeaks

Any additional comments?

This was a sweet, clean romance. I actually listened to this as an audio book as I went on my evening walks. It was a nice way to spend the time, and made the walk go much faster.

This is book 2 of the series but can be read as a stand alone. I actually read this book first and will now go back and read/listen to book 1 since I enjoyed this one.

In this story, we meet Noah and Cassie. Noah is a single father of 2 girls that he raises with the help of his sister who lives across the street. He is a carpenter who is down on his luck due to the slowing of the economy and is worried about taking care of his daughters. On his oldest daughters birthday, his sister gives the girls Irish Dance Lessons for their birthdays and poor Noah fears that the girls will like it so much and want to continue after the 6 month certificate expires.

This is where Cassie comes in. Cassie is a recent widow and finally starting to think and talk for herself after getting out from under her oppressive husbands thumb. She has opened up a rental space to teach Irish Dancing, but really wants to open up a studio in the basement of her home. And of course, with Noah being a carpenter....you can just imagine what happens nest.

Like I said earlier, this is a clean romance...and I mean so clean it squeaks clean. The story was well written, the dialogue flowed nicely between the characters, the description to details were done well and the characters were easy to fall into like with. No heart twinge or teary eyed moments, just good, straight up, entertaining reading/listening. The narration was done well, making the story come more alive.

Written as a multi pov.

Two Sides of Widowhood

Both are widows but their previous experiences with marriage are totally opposite. Their journeys to love again was interesting. Overall I enjoyed this because it made me feel apart of this group. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Good book

I liked this book at first but the reluctant girl, who refused to get involved, got old. I did not feel the chemistry, in a way I became disconnected with the characters halfway through. It was an ok book. I liked the first one better.
