About this listen

I stopped hiding...and became a hero, the beacon of a revolution.

Branded a terrorist, now I'm one of the galaxy's most wanted. Most hunted.

And I'm paralyzed with fear.

Not only of my execution.

Not only of psychic premonitions telling me it ends in fire and water. Not only of nightmares with the red-eyed assassin twisting his blade into my abdomen.

But because I harbor a secret.

Something no one knows but me.

A secret that raises the stakes so high I can barely breathe.

I wish it were only my life on the line, but it's far worse.

I'm pregnant.

And the assassins mean to rip open my rising womb.

Throughly Enjoyable Read!

I enjoyed this book almost more than the first! I love the intricate plot and the depth of characters. I also love the tenets of the Zhani and the philosophical questions underlying them. Lots of action, character transformations, and depth of emotions. Thanks for a great read!

The Sequel Dune Wanted

Moving and engaging story. Dune-esque feel to narration. Great read. Excited to see what Washburn has next.

Great blend of ideas and story telling!

This is a great sequel! It feels so familiar to other sci-fi or adventure stories, yet has such different characters and changes in the plot that it makes it a whole new and fresh experience. One moment it nearly draw on concepts like Star Wars, Firefly or Halo, and the next it takes you to a place you have absolutely never been and gives you a ride that is unique and very entertaining!
I can't wait for the third book!
The narrator is rock solid and does an excellent job making very clear distinctions between characters, while doing a great job painting the pictures and emotions that the author has created in this new world.

Just a retelling of Star Wars

This is just a retelling of Star Wars. The warrior monks with mysterious telekinetic and telepathic powers, swords made of light that reflect blaster bolts, a dark overlord, a powerful general in service of the overlord, and a set of orphaned twins. Sound familiar? I regret having wasted money on this.
