Publisher's summary

A mission, a life he'd committed to, but was it possible he could have more?

Sadist had lived the last 10 years with one goal in mind. To make this world safer for people like his family. He lived to protect his fellow Demented Souls, his club brothers. That didn't leave room for the softer parts of life like a wife or family. He didn't know if he could share the secret that kept his brothers alive. But who would be willing to let him keep those secrets from them?

Beth was just trying to get through a rough spot. Between work and helping her parents, she was getting by, but that was all. Then, a tall, tattooed man walked in to her salon for a haircut. The last thing she expected was for the man who made her stomach flip to be interested in her. Until he came back and asked her out.

Can Beth and Sadist figure out how to make things work, or will the secrets and misunderstandings be too much?

Sadist, the VP, and his new girl

Sadist, VP of Demented Souls...an undercover cross-agency task force. Their main job is to save women and children from human trafficking. To the outside world, they’re a scary bike club. Sadist has always avoided relationships and just had quickies with the club hang arounds, but that all changes when he meets Beth. Beth, hair stylist and all around good girl, could never be involved with the tattooed biker...could she? While this book is mainly about Sadist and Beth’s relationship, we do get a glimpse of the dealings of the MC as well as catch up with some familiar faces from prior books.
Great narration. Looking forward to the next book!

He's More Than Meets the Eye

Sadist is the tatted VP of the Demented Souls: a most unusual MC with brave brothers who have an astounding mission. There may be plenty of vices to go around in the clubhouse, but these guys aren't just beer swilling, woman using bikers. There's so much more to these guys. Sadist is an excellent example of that. At first glance, he's rough looking with all his ink (he's a tattoo artist), his Viking style mohawk, and his hard muscled body that shows he's not a guy to hang out in front of the TV all the time.

He's never had much time for romance since his mission just really isn't a good fit for relationships--he's got too many secrets to keep. But something about the woman that cuts his hair one day, Beth, just makes him want to ask her out...more than once. Which really intrigues him because she doesn't seem the type to fit into the MC scene at all.

But hey, the heart wants what the heart wants. Beth's also confused by their attraction since she's never gone for the type of guy that Sadist seems to be. But before either one of them knows what's going on, they're recognizing that this is more than a little spark between them.

This story is full of great characters, steamy passion, and fabulous heart. I loved the story line and the overall mission of the Demented Souls MC. Although I previously listened to a trio of novellas in the series, this was my first full length story. So I can comfortably say that you can pick up this book without having first read the previous books in the series. I had no problem following the story line.

Very Enjoyable!

I was anxious to read Sadist’s story. I wondered what type of woman he would end up with. Beth is not what I expected. The way they met was perfect. Just normal everyday stuff and BAM there could your forever. I enjoyed their story all except for when he thought she was breaking up with him. That whole thing wasn’t a fav for me. I have enjoyed meeting these guys and this different type of MC
I listened to this on audio. D.C Cole was the narrator. He does such a good job with this group. Very enjoyable to listen to.

Sadist

Another great listen I’m this series. You have the hot tattooed biker and the innocent hairdresser with chemistry that is so heated you know they will combust when together. I loved this book and hope their will be more in the future. As always with this narrator, narration was perfect.

Sadist & Beth

Sadist is an excellent addition to the Demented Souls series. I love the characters in the series, and from the very start, I was intrigued by Sadist, the HOT tatted VP. I loved that there was more to his personality than a tough biker. He is an artist, loyal to his brother, and is committed to his undercover mission. He keeps Beth a priority and wants her protected and away from dangers that may come with the MC lifestyle and his profession.

I really enjoyed the interaction between the characters, particularly Beth and Sadist. They have a fantastic connection, they communicate well, and I liked that there is no unnecessary drama. The storyline focuses on Beth and Sadist, Demented Souls MC, and their mission. Since this an MC romance, I hoped for more excitement and intensity. A few times, I was anticipating a suspenseful scene, but nothing happened. Also, the ending felt abrupted and somewhat unresolved.

D.C. Cole did an outstanding job with the narration. He portrayed the characters flawlessly, bringing them to life. Overall, this was an enjoyable listen, and I recommend it anyone looking for a tame and non-hardcore MC romance.

Enjoyable read

This was an enjoyable read. I enjoyed the characters and getting to know them a little bit better as this one is longer than the previous ones but it didn't feel like it was drawn out. We just got to see a little bit more of the characters and it fit for them and what had been happening in their lives. We get to see them get to know each other and explore the connection that they felt from the beginning. We also get to see a little more of what the Demented Souls do so a little bit more action/intrigue this time around. The story was well written and flowed well and was enjoyable to listen to. The narrator did a good job with it.

Sadist and Beth!

This is a great addition to the series. I love these characters and the way the Demented Souls world is building. Sadist is the VP of the Demented Souls, not much time for a serious relationship and feels with the amount of secrets he carries, it would be too much to ask of a woman. But when Beth cuts his hair, there is instant chemistry that he cannot deny. Beth is a hard working hairdresser, just trying to get by, and when this tattooed man asks her out, she is astonished. But she feels it too. Sadist is a wonderful character. I love a man that seems all rough on the outside, but has so much goodness in his heart it shines through. He does carry a lot of responsibility and his work cannot be divulged. Beth is ordinary to me, which I love. It makes her more real, and the interaction with her parents is priceless! Now can they find that magic to make their relationship work? We have some suspense filled moments, great times seeing characters we already know and get to see if they can make it work.

DC Cole continues his narration of this series bringing Sadist and Beth to life. I love this man's voice, he could read the phone book and I would listen. There is something in his style that hits all the personality traits in the characters and I find the he connects with them. Plus his raspiness is perfect for these bikers. Another amazing performance.

Not what I expected~

Not what I expected .....much better. Sadist and the Demented Souls are more than meets the eye.
Okay, so if you've already followed the prior books you already know this but I didn't since this is the first one I've listened/ read.
I loved the twist on this bike club along with the bit of background I learned. Sadist himself has a deep soul and a good heart.
This book ended kind of abruptly. I would love to have had more but if this series is like most, I'm sure we'll get more as the series continues.
