Publisher's summary

Kristen knows men hide things. Case in point, her last boyfriend turned out to be married. Just like anyone else, Kristen is devastated. However, since Kristen evaluates people for a living, her ex's duplicity has her searching for a new career as well as swearing off men.

Touring history museums with her sexy friend Ethan doesn't count, because he has a girlfriend, and has only shown friendly interest in Kristen. He even helps with her career counseling tasks. Although Kristen has a secret crush on Ethan, spending time with him is safe. Until she discovers he's actually single. Gasp. And now he's flirting with her, too.

Suddenly, Ethan is way too dangerous. Not to mention tempting. Sure, he seems like 60 shades of perfect, but how's a girl with bad judgment supposed to detect what skeletons he has in his closet?

Saving the date for the next one!

Any additional comments?

What a great book from Susan Hatler! I could not stop listening. Martha Lee brought to life the characters, their personalities, and emotions - the reasons why I love audiobooks (and because I have a long work commute). The story captures all the angst of the unknown, and the excitement of a budding romance. It was funny, witty, and relatable with a dash of good life lessons. Saving the date for the next one. Well done Susan!

Awesome and cute

I listened to this audiobook and I haven't listened to many. I really enjoyed it. The story translated well to audio. I have listened to a few books where it feels weird listening to it be spoken, but this one flowed well.
I like stories where the H/h start out as friends and become more, and Susan Hatler did a wonderful job of telling a full story, in a short story amount of time. I hadn't read any of the other 'Better Date Than Never' books, and while they aren't necessary to enjoy this story, I really would like to go back and read (or listen to) the others.

Great Read

Where does Save the Date rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is the first audio book that I have listen to in over 10 years and I thought it was great.

What other book might you compare Save the Date to and why?

I love all the books in the series that I have read so far.

What about Martha Lee’s performance did you like?

She did a great job as a narrator, her voice was soothing and easy to listen to.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Most parts made me smile.

Any additional comments?

Well I was so excited when I got this book, I had read the others and hadn’t read this one yet. I then got an offer to listen to this book from Audible and to give an honest review.
It has been years since I listened to an audio book. I felt this book read and I listen to it well, the writer, Susan Hatler, did an awesome job as I love her Better Date than Never series. The narrator did a great job and her voice was perfect and soothing.
I am glad I finally got to read about Kristen, I loved the way this character was so unsure about her life and that even changed careers. Well I didn’t love that idea, but she needed a change and to find out that she is ok . I really loved how she tried to find the right thing to do. The story is great, worth the read. I give it 5 stars.

The Narrator was Perfect!

Would you consider the audio edition of Save the Date to be better than the print version?

I never read the print version, couldn't say. But the narrator was perfect for this story.

Any additional comments?

For those that enjoy chick lit books, this is right up your alley. If you enjoy reading about young urban professionals who enjoy going out to lunch and discussing their issues, this is the book for you. It reminded me greatly of the Sophie Kinsella books. The author sent me the book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Finding your match

Would you consider the audio edition of Save the Date to be better than the print version?

I am a huge lover of print, but I did find myself enjoying the audible. It comes in handy when you don't have time to read yourself.

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoyed the story line in whole. Kristen is a character I can find myself relating to. Her fear in herself and relationships is coming. It was nice to see Ethan wear her down until she was ready to give him a chance. Through audible I was able to feel a bit of the emotions the narrator did a good job,

Have you listened to any of Martha Lee’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

First time hearing he. I enjoyed her telling of the story. She seemed to get into the characters and try to give them the personality in which you can feel through the story.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I enjoyed the moment during the cell phone, where Etahn trusted her enough to let her peruse through it. Oh, and the bust moment. He shared something special with her.

Any additional comments?

It was an overall nice experience. It was not something monotonous. You could feel that the narrator tried to give it character and meet up to the words portrayed through the story,

Great

Any additional comments?

It was a great story, and I enjoyed my time just relaxing and listening to it. It's a fine line with me for audio books, but this one was really great. The voice was clear and natural, the characters were entertaining, and the writing was excellent.

Enjoyable Clean Romance

What did you love best about Save the Date?

Learning the surprise of Ethan, the lawyer!!

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoyed the way Kristen was able to deal with the heartbreak of being in love with a married man, a cheater, and moving on with her life. It can be hard to move on when you are in love.

Which scene was your favorite?

The 2 months of leave from her job to get out-of-the city.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I giggled in a few places of listening to Save the Date! I was sad when Kristen wanted to quit her job over a breakup with a man. It was great to find out the decision that Kristen made about her job and her life.

Any additional comments?

I plugged in my ear buds to listen to Save the Date by Susan Hatler. This was a clean romantic story without all the harsh sex. Martha Lee, the narrator, made you feel like she was the character, Kristen, in the book. And it made cleaning the house an easy chore. Thank you Susan Hatler for introducing me to Save the Date!!
