Publisher's summary

Eva Leigh's smart and sexy Wicked Quills of London series continues, as a fiery playwright meets her match in a rake whose talents are far from hidden....

Playwright Maggie Delamere shuts down aristocratic males with a mere flick of her razor-sharp quill. If only they were so easy to dispatch offstage - especially Cameron, Viscount Marwood. The impossibly charismatic man seems made to test her resistance. But when writer's block and an enemy from Maggie's past simultaneously strike, Cam makes an all-too-tempting proposal....

Cam has never offered a lady his bed without being in it...but Maggie needs a writer's retreat, and his manor is just the place. It's the least Cam can do for the brilliant woman who pens his favorite plays. Still, there's something more than social justice behind the relish with which she skewers her "gentleman" characters. And as Maggie's pen and inhibitions loosen, Cam intends to unlock her secrets - one delicious revelation at a time.

Enjoyable story

I enjoyed it but there were times that I felt it was too long. I listened to it on a trip and it made the trip go fast.

Good second book in this series

I really enjoyed the first book in this series. This second one in the series, Maggie's story, was quite good. The lead characters in this series are successful women who write - a great premise for a series. I never really learned why Cam insisted he wouldn't marry, though. And the book ended without revealing a certain portion of Maggie's past that I was sure would get resolved.

The narration was great! This book was very enjoyable.

Pretty good

I liked the first book better but this one was pretty good. Somehow not much happened and I got a bit tired of it during the last 1/4 of the book but listened through to get to the HEA. I liked the characters well enough but somehow it just didn’t grip me Iike the first one. I might try the last of this series though.

Lightweight....

There wasn't a whole lot to this tale. What there was didn't need to take so long, it was a simple tale. That said.... it was enjoyable. Yet something was missing. Even in the epilogue I was waiting for 'it'.

NARRATOR: Lacking....easily tolerated but a slight speech/enunciation issue pulled me back out of the story on a regular basis. I'll avoid her.

HEAT FACTOR : 3 out of 5 stars...
