What can say about such an important and urgent book that has not been said before? I do not want to bash Spielberg's movie, which was a brilliant movie in many ways, but Spielberg missed something important: it is written in a form reportage- factual and quite effective. Listening/reading it was like- chill going my spine all the time. t did not make me feel sentimental in any way or outrageous (the way the movie made me feel) but horrified. Zero humanity in Goeth (once again, in Spielberg's movie he looked like evil and disturbed human, but still human)- a total psychopath in the country run by psychopaths. The performance by Humphrey Bower was brilliant and hit a right note. A.

Happily, the book was far better than the movie. An amazing story of a man driven to help people. Almost beyond belief that he and his wife could risk everything to save so many.

I would recommend that all Republicans and Democrats and Independent s select this book. Please listen to the very last paragraph which requests that all people who are considered “different” be treated with respect.

The story was good. Many things the same as in the movie, but many things were different, deeper, enriched.

The epilogue was a lesson we all should tell ourselves day in day out

I hate to admit that I am 40 and just now listened to it. I believe it should be required reading for every adult. This book was so carefully and brilliantly written. Keneally wrote a real tribute to a hero while also exposes weaknesses in humanity that are terrifyingly relevant today. It starts a little slow laying the ground work but gets intensely interesting.

Since first hearing Humphrey Bower narrate “The Power of One,” I have been taken with finding other narrations by him. SL was one of them. Once again, his narration of such riveting historical events was superb. Never simply “read.” Never rushed. Never boring. I highly recommend this version.

We should all, in our lives, aspire to have at least half the courage Oskar Schindler had amidst great evil. An incredible read that takes you on a journey in the darkest depths of humanity while highlighting the power of one person’s bravery and courage!

Life Changing.

A compelling historical account. the author does a superb job in conveying the story of Oscar Schindler and the cruelty of the SS . another record of what a people whose worldview had been poisoned by darwinism and lost of the image of God can do. Christians must read with caution, some gratuitous language is used in the narrative.
