A fabulous audiobook!

This was a fantastic audiobook! The narrator did a phenomenal job portraying the characters. And obviously, the story was great! This was my “reread” of the Scorned Prince and it did not disappoint! I fell in love with the story all over again! I highly recommend this audiobook!

An intense coming of age story!

I love a good coming of age story, and this one was particularly interesting seeing how the characters evolved! I’m invested and hope to see even more character and relationship development in the sequel!

Ready for the next in the series!

I really enjoyed the development of the characters and relationships, I wish the rings were described more in depth, I just want to learn more but hopefully there will be more in the following book. Also the recording has a few places that are dually dubbed so you can’t really understand what is being said but luckily it’s only a very small portion. The reader did a great job otherwise. 👍

The twist in relationship between the MMC and the MFC

I love the voice actor however I wish there was more of a difference in voice change between the two main characters. I loved the story and the relationship twist between the two! I devoured this in no time at all! Will be recommending this book and audio to anyone and everyone! Ready for book two!

Just what I was looking for

This book was recommended to me because I enjoyed avatar the last airbender and I have to say it's a very good read

Don’t sleep on this book!

If the indie published books I’ve read so far this year, this has been my favorite. With a tight narrative and easy prose, Hunsaker drives the reader through a slow-burn, enemies to allies (maybe more) story of purpose and redemption.

The marketing pitches this as an Avatar the Last Air Bender story that centers around Prince Zuko. I can definitely see the comparison! However, what a lot of readers (who complain about the character, Migo) fail to realize is that the psychology of his character and the nature of his flaws are so well aligned with covert depression. Having been diagnosed myself, it’s rare for a high-achieving character to be portrayed (Well!) with depression. The only one that truly comes to mind outside of Migo is Kaladin from Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive.

I hope people read this and give Migo the benefit of the doubt. Maybe at first you might not understand him, maybe you think it a little too cut and dry, or his thinking too black and white, but give him a chance. Maybe you’ll learn something about what it means to live with depression and have greater empathy for the millions of undiagnosed men in your life.

Thank you to the author for sharing such a powerful story in such a digestible form. I will absolutely be continuing the series and look forward to future installments!

Epic Start To A Series

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I loved the pacing and emotional highs and lows, and even the little lizard. I really feel like this story is the best of both YA worlds and NA tales. The tropes are fantastic, and I like the slow burn through the story. I also enjoy the flawed hero aspects and how it’s not an easy, one-dimensional shift of perspectives when reality comes knocking for our sad princeling.

There are two minor audio errors, but I believe they should be resolved, other than that, the narration is fantastic!

All up, an excellent start to a YA series, especially as a debut novel!

Wow! Where did this series come from!

Holy mess this book was fun! It reminded me of a more mature avatar the last airbender. The voice actor sounded like Jon Snow. I need book two to release on audible!

Quick and Cute

Put it down after first chaoter but it kept haunting me, Im glad I finished it and I look forward to seeing where it goes.I loved being able to seeing the inspiration for the story in the arcs and beats, some moments it was difficult to tell who was speaking and internal vs external dialog, some male voices sounded very similar but good performance overall.

Katsis character

Katsi is basically alone and trying to survive while Migo is surrounded by people and his family but still lonely and trying to survive. this story definitely pulled me in and kept me glued to it. There is so twists and lots of world building. i am already starting on book 2. Brady did not disappoint.
