A fun episode. Sure, so of the escapes tax credibility, but that is not new. Complaints but some of virus propaganda are silly. They come across as if China has a team looking for any social media (including novels) the even suggest that the virus originated from China, and then they attempt to shame the author for such political incorrectness. It’s just a fictional novel. Lighten up! Fun book.

Although I enjoyed the book, I was somewhat waiting for just a little more. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Something missing

The lack of action, suspense and intrigue in the first half of the book made me almost not want to finish it. Glad I did but it paled in comparison to the previous Alex Hawke books.

Really sad how Stokely n Brock were relegated to such small roles. Glad Mr. Shea is back. A bit cartoonish with green ray gun.

An other fun ride with Hawke

The last few months I’ve gone through the entire Alex Hawke series in order. This new book was great, building on the history. Individually the books are great, but everything has so much more depth now. And this one doesn’t disappoint. I’m looking forward to seeing where Hawke goes next and Alexi growing up through this storyline.

The narrator in the previous book did a great job, but it was great having John Shea back as the voice for this entire series.

Rehash of old material and not believable. Bell went way out there with this story.

my last Hawke book

like a fairytale. no possible reflection of reality but much fun. fantastic narration. ended like Ted knew it would be his last.

great Performance

Way beyond plausible, Ted! C'mon. And the fascination with this kid has gotten into way too much of the books. Get back to Congrieve and Stoke being integral to the plots. They feel incidental here. The last volume had an inferior reader. I gave it a pass - publisher's decision. This time, John is back, and that's good! But the plot and execution are poor. Strike two. Giving the series one more shot, then giving up.

Ridiculous, even for a thriller

It appeared that this book was more Mr. Bell venting on issues of the day then a true Hawke adventure. Even though one would find it difficult to disagree with many of Bell’s observations, Alex’s “cowboy” antics would have probably initiated WWIII. He also mentioned Elon Musk many times (?). I have listened to and enjoyed several of Mr. Bell’s books, but this one seemed quite disjointed, taking a world cruise and changing it into a search and destroy mission.
