Publisher's summary

Am I dead?

I really should be since I just swallowed enough Arcanum to blow up every wannabe mage in the city. But instead, a brand new Arcane symbol is glowing on my solar plexus: the sigil of Spirit. And linking elements with my four Rebels even gets us out of my brother’s compound alive.

Unfortunately, the current Arcane Masters aren’t the only threat we’re facing. With our newly heightened senses, we uncover a nasty piece of Arcane technology that’s been blighting the city’s water supply for a whole generation.

Amid all the chaos, I’ve somehow gone from a lonely, cloistered existence as Aurora to a thrilling new life as Aura. That includes a romantic involvement - not just with one fierce Rebel, but two. Bonding with the Rebels connects us all in a profound way that stretches far beyond the physical. Rain and Zephyr - Water and Air - are closer now than ever. Their touch can call down a mighty storm...or call up some seriously complicated feelings.

Ember is suffering in silence to see me with Rain and Zeph instead of him. Not Sterling, though - he’s intrigued.

I have no idea how to navigate the tangle of our relationships. The Arcane powers we stole are just as confusing. They didn’t come with a user’s manual, and just when we think we’ve got a handle on our talents... We realize we’re not invincible after all.

Urban fantasy fans will adore this medium-burn reverse harem filled with action, intrigue, and magic. If you enjoyed Fire’s Daughter, don’t miss Sea and Sky, the second book in the five-volume Arcane Rebels series.

Great narrator

There are still a couple confusing things in the story but the narration was spot on.
This one ends with a cliffhanger moment like book one. Aurora and her 4 men are learning what it means to work together.

Cliffhanger

How is book 2 going to end like that? I feel like the story kind of dragged out. Rain really grew on me but I couldn't really stand Sterling. He was featured way too much and barely anything with Ember.
Narration was good but the Male characters sounded like they were drunk.

Great Concept!

Such a great concept. The story hooked me in. I couldn't put it down once I started reading. The world builds perfectly. I as so excited to see how it develops. Aura has transfigured and now the Rebels have to figure out what that means while trying to fix the world and stay out of grasp of the bad guys. I really like Aura and the Rebels. Aura is figuring out her feelings for the guys and what a relationship would be like. I like that we get to know more about Sterling. Can't wait to start the next book. But alas, I require the sleeps.

I can’t.

I listened to book one and it was a good story, easy to follow, and had a lot of potential. Not as steamy as i like, but that’s a personal opinion.

I have used a credit twice on this book. But i just can’t seem to follow or get into it. The narrators are incredible and it’s a great performance but that story in book two is very hard to follow. It bounces from different perspectives a lot with no reason or understanding of why. There are so many flash backs that have nothing to do with the story. There isn’t much on their relationship or character development. Then all of a sudden there’s animosity amongst almost all members. I have a hard time picture the characters or connecting/understanding them at all. The world itself is awesome and the concept has a lot of potential. It’s good writing, but the story falls flat.

Great story!

I truly love this story. Love the series but hate that each segment ends in cliffhangers. The five rebel Arcanans must travel treacherous paths in their quest to rid Corona of the blight that has nearly ruined their home as well as the paths of self realization of newfound powers and their growing feelings toward each other. Highly recommend this entire series!

Ugh

I tried. I thought maybe the second book would get better but it was much worse. Between the irrelevant memories of the guys' pasts and the sudden animosity between several members of the rebel group when none seemed to exist in the first book as well as enough plot holes and unrealistic situations to make me cringe, I just can't. I can see what the author wanted to make this series but it comes off as just dull most of the time and annoying the rest.

Part of what frustrating in both this book and the last is the fact that there are only four rebels when supposedly everyone is unhappy with the way things are. You could write that off as the others being scared or something to do with the blight or whatever but it still seems like there would be more than just four. Then there's the easy way that everyone just accepted Aurora into the group. If it was really a secretive resistance, there's no way they would let their guard down around the daughter of the enemy so quickly even if you tried to explain it away as part of their bond. Then, you have them running around with half baked plans that even a child could find fault in and you have to wonder how they managed to form any kind of resistance at all.

Aura is probably the worst on the cringe factor. She's such a cardboard pathetic excuse for a heroine that I want to bash my head against the wall. She's so starved for touch that she basically throws herself at the guys and then bends over backwards for them just so they'll keep being nice to her. She's supposedly am innocent virgin but she has no problem sliding herself into an air and water sandwich or contemplating all of them in an orgy. We all know weak little blond bimbos just need some over the top handsome dudes to pump her a few times to make everything right in the world. Ugh... Terrible
