Publisher's summary

"Lost. Everything in my life can be summed up by that one sickening word. My football coach blames me for our season-ending losses. So does the rest of the team. I wasted two whole months drowning in my own despair, like a complete loser. And I lost my girlfriend - Fable Maguire, the only girl who ever mattered - because I was afraid that being with me would only hurt her.

"But now I realize that I'm the one who's truly lost without her. And even though she acts like she's moved on and everything's fine, I know she still thinks about me just as much as I think about her. I know her too well. She's so damn vulnerable, all I want to do is be there to help her . . . to hold her . . . to love her.

"I just need her to give me one more chance. We may be lost without each other, but together, we're destined to find a love that lasts forever."

Good ending to the series

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes

What was one of the most memorable moments of Second Chance Boyfriend?

When Drew finally proposed.

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

They are both good and I'm glad the author kept them for the second book

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the mom finally left her kids, and Owens reaction. As a mom it killed me.

The Actual novel is AMAZING!!!

The narrators almost completely ruined this book for me. They ladies (or at least one of them) had a mid-western accent (Kate Rudd or Tanya Eby)that didn’t sit right and Luke Daniels who voiced Drew sounded WAY TOO OLD (voice wise) to be Drew but was perfect for his dad. These voices just didn’t hit the story the way I “heard” it in my head so a bit disappointing.
However, that couldn’t take away from this amazing book which I LOVED! I’ll bet had I been actually reading it, there would have been at least 2 maybe more spots I would have ugly cried had the emotion been right behind the words. Monica Murphy is a great author who almost always delivers!!!
Drew and Fable are a real life couple with real life problems and I loved that about them. They had everything but the kitchen sink thrown at them and they never gave it. It made them stronger.
All in all a great contribution to this series and I can see why their story is STILL being heralded so many years after these books came out! A love story for the times and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Amazing

I loved this book! (series) the ploy was good, kind of predictable, but! these are one of the books where I liked the heroine just as much if not more then the hero in the story! Fable is an amazingly strong person, I liked how her character was straight up and honest and didn't pull unnecessary things I noticed the relationship, for having a messed up life both Fable and Drew have one of the most stable romantic relationships I've ever read!

Still wish I read this.

This does tie up the first book
I did not care for this story as much as the first book. I think it could have been shorter. I think Fable was meaner in this one. Drew was working on himself which was excellent to see but Fable gave him no leeway even knowing his past and lack of ever being in a relationship.

The narrators ruined both characters for me. Kate was loud and harsh and Luke was over the top melodramatic and cartoonish sounding.
His voice was too old for a 21 year old. I read the Callaghan’s series before this and that Drew did not seem to be so over the top with his emotions or thoughts.

I wish there had been more about him getting into the NFL and deciding to start having kids. Perhaps she will write a story about that time in Fable and Drew’s life up until their kids go to middle school and high school.

I enjoyed the Callaghan’s series much more. It’s about their kids.

M-A-R-S-H-M-A-L-L-O-W

This book is told in alternating POVS of Drew & Fable and it picks up two months after One Week Girlfriend left off. Fable is trying to move on with her life despite the heart-break. She has a new job and is doing her best to take care of herself and her brother Owen. Drew is completely miserable without Fable but he still believes he is not good enough for her. So, Drew simply runs because thats what he does best. Eventually, he does take some steps in his life by starting to see a psychologist. Then one night Drew accidentally run into Fable at her new work place and it only takes seconds for the sparks to ignite. Soon Drew and Fable are lost in one another. They’re more open and honest with one another and it looks like everything is falling in place for them. But when Drew’s dad decides to divorce Adele and Fable’s mom skips out of town, taking everything with her and leaving Fable and Owen to fend for themselves, Fable and Drew must make a few decisions that could affect their future. If the secrets and lies from Drew's past are revealed, specifically to Drew’s father who's still in the dark about Adele, his soon to be ex-wife who's obsessed with having Drew for her own. She'll will stop at nothing to make it happen, even if it means getting rid of Fable by any means necessary. Second Chance Boyfriend is just like the title states. It’s all about second chances. This final book is truly about Drew & Fable finding their way back to one another, learning how to be there for one another while allowing their love to blossom. It focuses more on them opening up to each other & building a trusting relationship. Their connection is undeniable! They have crazy chemistry and u cannot get enough of their sexy times together! All in all, Second Chance Boyfriend was a tender-hearted and passionate conclusion to Drew and Fables love story.

Story line was a sensitive topic

It was a great story, well written and the narrators made it very engaging. Loved that Drew and Fabel had their second opportunity, and that they conquered all the obstacles with trust and love. My first time listening to these narrators which I enjoyed immensely, Will continue to the next one.

Great story

This is a great story. I love seeing how Drew and Fable started after meeting their characters in the Callahan series. They were truly meant for one another. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Female narrator is wonderful, the male narrator was hard to listen to.

I own this series both Kindle and audible!

Where does Second Chance Boyfriend rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Clearly Monica Murphy is one of my favorite authors!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

When you get as invested in the characters like I do you can't help but feel everything they feel throughout the story. The author and narrator do fabulous jobs of portraying the characters!

Very good book only one complaint

I loved the first book and this one was a great story too. My only complaint is that I did not care for the voice the narrator uses for Fable. It was incredibly annoying.

Love Fable and Drew

I like how the characters healed each other. Both loners who had no one until they found each other. Well worth a credit. Not crazy about male narrator.
