About this listen

In New York Times best-selling author Victoria Laurie's newest Psychic Eye Mystery, Abby Cooper senses a convicted killer is innocent, but she'll need hard evidence to save the woman before it's too late.... A ticked-off judge has tossed Abby in the slammer for contempt of court, and during her brief but unpleasant stay she learns the story of a condemned woman who is facing a far more serious sentence. Skylar Miller has been found guilty of murder and faces the death penalty. Everyone believes she's guilty, including her own family and her ex-husband - everyone, that is, except Abby, whose finely honed intuition tells her this woman doesn't belong behind bars. With the help of her husband, Dutch, and her friend, Candice, Abby launches her own investigation to clear Skylar and find the real killer. But after a final appeal is denied and Skylar's attorney scrambles for a stay of execution, time is running short - and the list of suspects keeps growing. There's no margin for error as the life of an innocent woman hangs in the balance.

Very Entertaining

This series is always fun to read, but this one took one a more serious & tense plot that kept me wondering to the end what would happen. i recommend the book for people who really like going along with the investigator step by step.

One of the best in the series

I have read every book in the series and enjoy them all. This one is no different. The only thing I didn't like is that I figured out who the killer was early on and had to wait for everyone else to catch up. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Too perky

The perky romance overwhelms the psychic and other interesting aspects of the story. But still enjoyed the book.

Abby Cooper strikes again!

Book 13 in the Psychic Eye Mystery Series does not disappoint! Abby is hard pressed for time and energy when she takes on the saddest case to date. After meeting Skylar in jail for contempt, (which btw that story is extremely funny) Abby is determined to find the “real killer” of Skylar's son Noah before she is put to death by the state of Texas. Abby is already being stretched thin with a case she is helping work for a second time, but feels so strongly that Skylar has been wrongly convicted, that she is willing to give up even sleep to set things right. Can Abby and her sleuth team solve this ten year old case in just one week? Buy the book to find out!

I love the comfort reading a Victoria Laurie novel brings me. I know from reading the previous 12 books in this series that Victoria's writing is phenomenal, so when I sit down to read Abby's newest adventure, I know I'm in for a treat! So, Abby finds a way to get into trouble while in the court room, the judge is so pissed that he arranges for her to not only spend a couple of days in jail, but to be cell mates with a death row inmate! Skylar Miller's story touched Abby so much that she couldn't not try to help this grieving mother. Once Abby is free, she jumps into action! Her partner and friend Candice, reluctantly joins Abby's investigation, but only after her paying cases. Agent Oscar Rodriguez is currently on a weeks leave, so he agreed to help her as well, if she agrees to help him find a house. Now that all the players are in, Abby starts right away because Skylar only has so many days left!

The story definitely gets your heart pounding. The racing of the clock is very nerve racking, and so is the zero cooperation Abby seems to face at every turn. The crime is heinous. The family is torn apart, and the convicted mother was an alcoholic. Can this case be any more difficult? I loved the new relationship that has developed with Agent Oscar Rodriguez. I'm still not feeling much of a connection for Abby and Texas. Especially with the way local PD have treated Abby from day one. For a brief moment in the beginning of the story, I thought that MJ would have been brought in for a consult/cross-over, but the story was steered away from that idea as fast as it entered. Bummer too, cause I love MJ in the Ghost Hunter Mystery Series. The plot twist was pretty messed up, simply because of how close they were to Skylar's deadline, and the frustration was building for not only Abby, but me the reader as well. I loved how it all came together though, it kept my attention for sure, and my anxiety level was at it's peak in the height of the story. I'm sure at this point in the game you are thinking, nah she already has 13 books out in this series I'm not going to bother. But oh you will! Once you start you won't be able to stop, and you will never be disappointed! Ok maybe a little sad once you read the last one, cause then you will have to wait with the rest of us for the next book!

Narrator Review

Elizabeth Michaels narrates for the Abby Cooper Psychic Eye Mystery Series. Elizabeth does an excellent job with her portrayal of Abby Cooper. Elizabeth's tone and narration skills are great, but if your looking for an outright acting out with various male and female accents then you will feel left short. She doesn't do other voices that great, but she does a great job telling Abby's story. I can honestly say that not having different accents and tones for other characters has not lessened my listening experience with Elizabeth Michaels. 4 Stars Ms. Michaels!

Better than the last one

After 13 books, enough with Abby's lying and swear jar. Narrator's accents are terrible.
