I had no idea this was this author's first published novel -- and that's a good thing. Time travel stories can get murky, and Huffmire also takes time to carefully weave in lore which had to make it even trickier. Towards the end there was so much jumping that I started ignoring the dates and following the story, but in this case it still worked.

Even though I enjoyed trying to match bits and pieces to well-known fairy tales, I also enjoyed the story itself for what it was.

This is my first time hearing Rachel White narrate and she knocked it out of the park IMO.

There are signs of a sequel or two by the end, and while this story stands extremely well on its own, I'd be down to continue the journey.

I took a shot and requested a free review copy of this audiobook from the publisher, and I'm very glad they allowed me the opportunity. I sincerely recommend this listen!

This book was really interesting. I loved the sci-fi twist to this retelling. This to date is one of the best Snow White retellings I read. It combined fantasy, history and science fiction into one incredible story. The character development throughout this book was perfection. I loved how deep the characters personalities went and it was easy to see what made them tick. The plot development was mind-blowing. I loved how the author used real history and made it look like time travel was the cause of the incidents. This plot was complex and full of plot twists. It was scary listening to the audiobook, not know what twist you were going to be hit with. I loved the narration of this book. The narrator was able to make a scene tense or happy whenever needed. I loved the different voice combinations for each character. Overall, this was a brilliant book. I loved listening to it and finding out what was going to happen next. I was gifted this audiobook and am leaving my honest opinion

I’ll admit I wasn’t quite sure what this book was about at first other than time travel, but as I got into the story and it became more relevant to the plot, I really did enjoy this book and finished it within two days. It’s sc-fi twist on very well known classic tale. I liked the character build up as you realize who each character represents in the tale. And the narrator did excellent job on different character voices and accents of each. I definitely recommend this book to all it is definitely worth credit in my opinion. I was given this audiobook for free in exchange for honest review which I absolutely always do rather I liked it or not and I definitely liked this one.

‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarves’ in a never-seen-before kind of plot. Combines fairy-tale, historical fiction, fantasy, and futuristic science fiction into one heck of a package. Complex plot, layered characters, twisty storytelling, no frivolous romance. The first of a series. No cliffhanger ending. Had a couple of minor issues, but overall, an entertaining journey. Much recommended!
The narrator was outstanding with her performance and the varied accents. However, the prologue isn't a part of the audio version - wonder why. I realised this only because I had the ebook as well. Wouldn't recommended the audio to newbie listeners as there are too many timelines to keep track of. But experienced listeners can certainly enjoy this version.

It took me a little while to get into this book, but that’s the norm for me. Once I got into the characters and started recognising the Snow White elements in it, I was hooked. Such a creative and enthralling take on the fairytale! Like a cross between Timeline and Artemis Fowl. Great book! I want to read the next one and I want a physical copy of this one. Also, the narrator. The NARRATOR!!! I am so picky about narrators and this one hit it out of the park!! The different accents were spot on and she somehow made a German accent sound sweet and gentle. I’d love to hire her for my own audiobooks!

This book was so fun! I loved the twist of using time travel to tell the fairytale. You know the story of Snow White, you just don’t know how it is going to unfold. It was brilliant! Each character fit their role and everything was in place just as it should.
The narrator made listening come to life by using the different accents throughout. I am looking forward to listening to more in the series. I want to see how the author weaves those tales.

I love an original spin on a fairy tale. Throw in an element of time travel and I am IN. Shattered Snow is a thoroughly inventive and original take on Snow White and the start of a series I can't wait to continue. The love story is no-spice but very sweet (I think we're calling that vanilla now?). The narrator did an excellent job bringing the Scottish and German character voices to life in a way that I don't think I would have gotten just reading in print. (I did however notice that a prologue chapter and the note from the author, which is filled with fascinating historical information about the roots of the Snow White story, are missing from the audiobook but included in a print version I compared. This seems unfortunate.) Highly recommended.

I'm pleased to say this is the first time EVER that I received a copy of an audiobook from StoryOrigin in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed the book overall and thought the premise was really creative. Time travel, mysterious mirrors, and characters from different eras? Definitely my kind of story. I listened to the audiobook version, and the narrator did a great job bringing the characters to life.

That said, I found the storyline a little hard to follow at times, mostly because of all the time travel. There were moments when I had to rewind just to figure out where (or when) we were. The constant jumping between timelines and characters made it tough to stay grounded in the plot.

Still, I appreciated the unique spin on time travel and the way the characters’ paths eventually intersected. It’s worth a read (or listen) if you like speculative fiction and don’t mind stories that require a bit more focus.

The story was interesting, entertaining and intelligently written. The vocal narration was amazing (So many accents! ) and very engaging! I usually don't go for "rewritten fairytales", but this one actually makes the original story make more sense. Young teens to adults will enjoy this. Well done!
