Publisher's summary

Requested by a frightened Lady Elisabeth Montague, Holmes and Watson travel all the way to the Montague home, situated on a remote desolate island, to investigate her somewhat fanciful fears.

Are the family in mortal danger? And why have the Montagues, once the darlings of London society, now shut themselves away from civilization in this bleak, god-forsaken retreat?

As the Montague murders begin, Holmes finds himself drawn, ever closer, to the dreaded Montague madness....

Short and sweet!

If you’re a fan of Sherlock, you can’t really go wrong with this. Reminds me of the old school BBC radio shows more than a straight audiobook, but I’m not complaining. Kevin’s narration was dynamic and engaging. He had no trouble keeping me interested through the runtime.

Fun listen

This sounds like a old time radio show but without the advertisements. It is entertaining for sure. The narrator really brings the characters to life! Wonderful job.
I freely wrote review after receiving this audiobook from the narrator.

Another Great Sherlock Holmes Adventure

Sherlock Holmes and the Montague Murders by Ian Shimwell is yet another fantastic case solve by Sherlock Holmes and Watson. The plot and the case itself was very interesting. The island setting was also very welcome. The narrator Kevin Theis did a fantastic job brining these beloved detectives to life. All in all I would recommend Sherlock Holmes and the Montague Murders to anyone who is a Sherlock Holmes fan or likes a good mystery.

Really good

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Scary family. A reclusive family as well. So when murder after murder happens it certainly gets Holmes and Watson thinking as to who the murderer is.

One of four new classic scripts of Holmes and Watson

Ian shimwell has written four new classic scripts in the world of Holmes and Watson. They are available individually and also now as a completed volume. I grew up with a love for the old basil rathbone and Nigel Bruce black and white Holmes movies. This story is written and performed in that same spirit. Truly a wonderful addition to any Holmes fans collections. Highly recommended. The narrators deliver that old time movie/radio show feel. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher

I love a Holmes murder mystery, don't you?

This story is set out as acts in a play, but it is a murder mystery, using the methods of Mr Conan-Doyle and his characters of Mesrs Holmes and Watson, and their art of deduction.
As usual, it's a convoluted plot, that keeps the viewer guessing until the last.

The series seems to be improving…

After listening to book 1, I was torn over continuing or not. I love Holmes but I was not really a fan of the screenplay style the story written in. I think I’ve gotten past my dislike for the format and I’ve decided to listen to the whole series.
The narrator, who I was also hesitant of, has likewise grown on me and I am enjoying the performance.
If you like deep, twisting thriller tales, this series may not be for you…BUT if you enjoy a fun, short performance with the master sleuth and his sidekick, get this series.
