Publisher's summary

Imagine learning that someone you loved, the person who had been your role model and rock, had a past life so deep and dark that it obliterated your entire relationship.

Silver Goodbye takes off fast when Buck Reilly, the once famous archeologist who lost his company, fortune, supermodel wife, and parents, makes a discovery that shakes the fragile foundation of his world. The revelation sends Buck back to Key West aboard the Beast, his ancient flying boat, to search for answers to a 30-year-old family mystery and a cache of untold riches. Turns out that Jade Diaz, the daughter of a dead drug smuggler, is on the same hunt, and when she reluctantly teams up with Buck, the dark past returns to hunt them with a vengeance.

To make matters worse, Hurricane Irma is ripping a path of destruction through the Caribbean, forcing Buck to race against its descent onto the Keys to save Jade and find the buried stash before the storm surge washes it away.

Silver Goodbye will shake you at the start, stir you in the middle, and blow you away at the end.

Great series!

The stories, characters and setting of all the Buck Reilly adventures are great and this tied them all together. Very enjoyable.

What a great comeback… love this series!

I love the Buck Reilly series, but the last book Free Fall to Black wasn’t my favorite… too many weird lusty scenes with the awkward adjectives. It was great background story for the series and a good prequel of sorts, but kind of made me want to look for something else to read. Silver Goodbye brought back the adventure I love and skipped the attempts at becoming a harlequin romance novel. Adventure, planes, treasure, and islands… that’s what I wanted and this book has it all!

meh

I've enjoyed the other books in this series but this one feels mailed in. The author didn't do the work of tying the characters together making me care about them or believe their motivation. I'll probably get the next one but if it isn't better....
