A great adventure.

I'm glad I discovered these treasures from James Maxwell. His storytelling is fantastic, the narration is great. The story doesn't fall victim to the same old, same old. There are length of surprises and twists to keep one interested. I can't wait to start the final installment. So, of I go.

Very good.

I wasn't disappointed. It's a definite 4.5 out of 5. I could see a Syfy 3 night movie series. It could happen.

Wonderful Book

First, I love Simon Vance as a narrator. His words are always crisp and he keeps me entertained.

This book is so good. I’ve grown tired of fantasy characters who make bad, childish, selfish and unrealistic decisions just to help a storyline. This book is full of real people, some good, some bad, but they make decisions that are realistic, and I love that. There is no daytime television type crazy drama that makes me want to stop reading. Also, I haven’t noticed any obvious plot holes and the story, main characters and the world are all fully developed. The character and world building is dispersed throughout the book, so it’s not overwhelming. I really have enjoyed this series so far.

Fantasy lover

Loved it ! I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I especially enjoy Simon Vance as a narrator. His voice changes help form a mental vision of the characters yet aren't so dramatic as to leave nothing to the imagination.

Addicted to all books performed by Steven Brand

I’m addicted this series. The story confuses a bit. Not sure I understand the virtues and who the monster was or why it exists. However the narrative is flawless and Brand’s portrayal of a sarcastic rogue soldier, Aron is often hilarious. Overall, witty, new, different tale.
