About this listen

Once you check in, the nightmare begins....

On a dark, lonely road, it stands - a quiet, unassuming motel with a blinking neon sign. But for author Patrick Lahm, this is no ordinary night's lodging.

Something lurks within the motel's dingy halls and threadbare rooms.

Something evil. And once it infests your mind, there is no escape.

Scare Street presents the complete terrifying Sin series in one volume.

Kurtain Motel (book one) - On the longest night of his life, Patrick Lahm is forced to spend the night at the sinister Kurtain motel. And he soon discovers sins always find a way to catch up with you, no matter how hard you try to run....

Refuge (book two) - Nestled in the heart of Maine and miles away from the Kurtain Motel, the small town of Refuge is the perfect hideaway for Patrick Lahm. But as the walls of reality crumble around him, Patrick soon realizes there can be no rest for the sinful....

Purgatory (book three) - When a serial killer is found dead in the woods outside the quiet town of Darville, Patrick Lahm is called back to Connecticut. As darkness descends on the small New England town, the evil that had once brought misery upon the guests of the Kurtain Motel finds its place amongst the wicked....

Scary Stories (short horror stories) - This bonus edition also includes five macabre masterpieces, crafted from the darkest depths of your nightmares.

Three mind-bending novels and a short story collection filled with suspense, supernatural horror, and nightmares.

Welcome to the Kurtain Motel. We hope you enjoy your stay....

Confess…

This 3-book set by A. I. Nasser was very enjoyable. It took a couple of turns that I didn’t expect, which induced me to listen to the series not just once, but twice. Re-listening to the series was not just to make certain that I didn’t miss any transitions from a transition from the physical to the other realm, I just found the stories very engaging.

The bonus book is a compilation of short stories that I liked as well.

I “confess” I am a big Scare Street fan, and enjoy the stories this publishing community puts out. Narrator Thom Bowers is my favorite narrator for these books. In my opinion, definitely worth a credit.

Heart stoppihg

This series is amazing each story leaving you on the edge of your seat. I'm not sure which story I liked the most to hard to decide the narration was outstanding. If you want to be kept up this one will do just that you'll fall in terror with everyone in these stories.

Confess

Kurtain Motel loved the characters of Patrick, Jimmy and Connor. Patrick stopped at motel for the night due to storm, then all hell starts. Refuge; love characters of Patrick, Jimmy and Connor, there is other old characters and couple of new ones. This book continues after Patrick, Jimmy and Tara escapes Kurtain Motel and decides to stay in quaint town of Refuge, Maine then terror starts after 6 mos. where you need to confess to your sins and Tara is taken. Purgatory; Patrick and Jimmy are trying to rescue Tara in Purgatory in Darville. Patrick needs to find Jimmy and heads to the Heldon Manor. The epilog hints there could be another series with Philip and Jimmy (hope so). Scary Stories; I loved all of the stories and a couple had a couple of character from his previous series and makes you want to never live in New Hampshire, a couple of favorites were The Bridge and Maker’s Hill

Your Nightmares Might Be Closer Than You Think

Nightmares lurk, and they can find you in the most random of places. A. I. Nasser has created a masterpiece with this series, and one that you will shiver your way through!

Kurtain Motel:
You can always enter, but you may not be able to leave.

As the Kurtain Motel is the only place along the lonely stretch of road to stop, many are huddled within, waiting out the storm that never seems to end. Time is funny, with night never seeming to end.

Enter all those who dare, and confront your inner demons.

Great read! I LOVED IT!

Refuge:
Refuge seems to be the perfect place to hide away from the terror of the Kurtain Motel, but Patrick is about to discover a horrifying truth.

While you might think you are leaving the motel, think again - you might just be stuck in a recurring nightmare, just waiting for you to make a mistake, and take your soul.

Great read!

Purgatory:
Run, run, as fast as you can...

No matter what they do, the nightmares continue to close in. Until they confess their sins, they are hounded - once they do, they are doomed.
As Patrick and Jimmy race to find Tara, and hopefully save her before the soul collector inside her brings her to ruin, there are other entities to be dealt with - and time and space have a funny way of shifting.

This was perfection in a book, and a great read. Sad to see this series end.

Fairly Bland and Incongruous

I only finished the set because I’d paid for it and wish I’d chosen to value my time over money. If I had, I would have discontinued at the start of the 2nd book. Not scary at all..slow stories that felt rushed in creation. Love Thom Bowers though!

Underwhelming to the Point of Boring

A sophomoric attempt to write in the style of Stephen King. Why? So many SS authors have far surpassed SK at this point. This is ambling and boring. I’m exchanging for something else.

I saw Ron Ripley’s name as an author but unfortunately, it’s all Nasser. Major disappointment.

Thom Bowers is reliable as ever. The only good thing about this book.
