Publisher's summary

The untimely death of her father shatters Mary Esther Robbins’ heart and separates her from her grade school best friend, Samuel Levi Baylor. During their 20 years apart, she fulfills her life’s dream of penning new songs and singing God’s praise with a Christian band, while he tends his growing cattle herd and shares the Good News at every opportunity.

The Lord brings her home and then throws them back together when Samuel agrees to help Mary Esther move and remodel her childhood home. The two decades lost vanish, and their time together convinces both the other is the true soul mate. But misunderstanding and fear keeps them from expressing their true love. Though jealousy rears its ugly head, can love and commitment hold the two together? And while they’re both committed to ministering the Gospel together, can they do it as husband and wife?

By God's Leading

Another great read by Caryl McAdoo. This short, yet powerful read shows what can happen when you put your full trust in God and His leading. A little romance along the way helps too. You will not be disappointed reading this book and likely be looking for more by this author.

second chance

High angst and miscommunications from 20 years to present time keep interfering with life. The views and actions of the couple seem archaic and antiquated and not of current times. It's sad for all the wasted years apart. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job

Enjoyable listen

I really liked the characters and flow of the story. God always knows what he is doing even if we don't understand. I love the Bible verses the author weaves into her stories.

The narrator did a great job. The chuckling/laughing was kind of off to me but she did a great otherwise including the singing.

Perfect Hope

This is a perfect Christian love story. Honestly could be a Hallmark movie. The way it builds and the characters are portrayed is amazing. The reader is awesome and actually sings the pieces which is super awesome! Worth a listen and I would definitely recommend it to others!

It’s a nice story.

Two children forced to part ways by the loss of her father, reunite 20 years later. The childhood friendship turns to a deep and abiding love. However, he has heard from God and knows the criteria his wife must meet. Is she the right woman for him?

This is probably a hard story for some people to read as the hero is very legalistic. But the author didn’t portrayed him as judgmental. He sincerely held these beliefs for himself and his wife and he taught them compassionately to others. He was committed to what he thought God had said to him and was unwilling to disobey, which was certainly admirable.

Amazingly Awesome!

If you are looking for a book deeply rooted in Christian ideals then look no further. This was a refreshing look at some of the issues we take for granted in today's culture. Yet the wonderfully rich characters made the topics seem less intimidating and conveyed the theme with excellence.

The storyline was enhanced through the narration. She can sing and she laughs when the characters laugh! I loved it! Her voices added to the richness and conveyed the southern culture as well as the various personalities contained within the story.

I received this audiobook from the author in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.
