Publisher's summary

My recluse lifestyle hadn’t prepared me for my first day of college.

I understood I was an outcast, an introverted gamer nerd with a system of avoiding anything that breathed. But that was because I had a pretty horrid past, one involving wolves ripping through my parents at the dinner table when I was four.

Much like what is happening right now…

As I said, I have minimal experience socializing with people. But when a bunch of guys from school randomly decide to chase me down park lines and turn into a pack of wolves, I start to think that maybe my social skills aren’t the problem.

Last time I managed to escape by the skin of my teeth. This time, not so much. When the blood moon suddenly answers my death with a full-blown wolf awakening, I feel like there is more to me than my orphaned life led on.

I am saved and told that I am destined for the throne of a fallen pack, to become the alpha. To resurrect the Sire Wolves, I'll need to grow and protect my pack.

Really feels like half a book

the book really feels like a preamble to a book. I felt like it's a incompleted arc in a story. I like the premise and the narrators.

EEEEEHHHHHHH! It's okay.

So I listened to this because I like stories about fantasy creatures. However, I feel like the main characters back story is pretty similar to how the main character in The Alpha written by Eric Vall. Other than that the story seems to be a bit different like how they shift and the general world but I feel like it will be heading in the same direction as The Alpha story wise just not on as big of scale. I might get the second book but I am not going to rush to get it.

Concerning

It really seemed like the Alpha from Eric Vall but not as in-depth.

I understand the MC hesitation to do some suff, However it just seems to well timed to suddenly understand something he was struggling with the whole book.
I'm also worried about just adding women to his pack just for them to be not important or have any character development wise.
It was an okay listen. I'll get book two but hope it gets better.

Good but could be better.

I enjoy the story but I feel like there could be so much more. I think the MC is strong but doesn't know how to use his strengths properly. Because of his human mentality and the mentality needed for being a werewolf are so opposite. And the best way I think the character could grow the best way is to find some common ground with needing to be both human & werewolf. Something both halves could be satisfied with.

Mc is such an unbelievable idiot. Waste of money. Don’t buy.

Author spent almost the entire book writing the MC as the dumbest character ever put to paper. He makes the literal worst possible choice at every turn while he straight up has someone there telling him exactly how dumb he’s being. and it’s not even all “new wearwolf growing pains” it’s common sense stuff, he’s the worst. By the time there was 2 hours left in the book I honestly hated the MC. Like he sees the enemy pack following his omega, the pack he knows wants to take her, and he tries to run away and leaver her there. Just because he’s a hybrid doesn’t mean he has to be a completely stupid wuss. So if you want to spend a handful of hours being progressively more pissed off then go ahead and waste your money.

Bad

This feels like a terrible copy of another series in the same genre. There just nothing redeeming about this one. Terrible weak mc that’s cocky for no reason. Narrators are fine but doesn’t save this trash.

Feels like a bad rip off

Okay, so I feel like this was inspired by Eric Vall's series with some changes. I could be wrong. So, the story did start off strong but as it progressed I started to dislike the story. It's unclear on how powerful tge MC is or supposed to be. One moment he is supposed to be big and bad, but he easily gets his butt whooped. He is a half shifter, but it seems to be an excuse on why he is weak even though a werewolf/shifter is a human that can transform into a hybrid or full animal form. Either he is a shifter or he is not, there is no half shifter. Strength also depends on how many Omegas he sleeps with instead of the alpha being strong. Also, they fight as humans instead of the werewolf or wolf form, which is dumb. The part i hate the most is the uncle and his adopted daughter. Both are toxic towards the MC. I just feel like nitpicking this series really badly instead of enjoying the ride.

I can’t

If you like a strong, name taking, butt kicking MC that doesn’t take crap from anyone and isn’t afraid to stand up and fight. Then this book is NOT for you! I have never wanted an MC to die and be replaced by a different character so bad before. Narration was great.

Main character is actually brain dead

He has two people giving him very important advice that he is blatantly ignoring. He has people trying to Jill him and he’s not wanting to kill one because she’s a hot chick despite her saying to his face that her people are going to kill him. If that’s not brain dead, I don’t know what is

couldn't finish it.

I have come to hate these stories where the MC is dumb. These authors write them from some moral high ground, and it makes the MC un relatable. the storyline is convoluted and runs the same basic outline as another author. (EV. Alpha) I'm getting my money back.
