I enjoyed the mystery. I enjoyed the cat. I enjoyed the weird romance… And the twist at the end. And I enjoyed this while I was suffering with Covid and taking TheraFlu. Managed to shake off the “nighttime” effects

just when I thought it was over. excellent book and difficult to put down. reminded me of Penelope from Fr. Brown they way she described herself.

Six Feet Deep Dish is the first book in a new series by Mindy Quigley. The story is set in Geneva Bay, Wisconsin where the main character is getting ready for the grand opening of her gourmet pizzeria. Dee is engage to a very wealthy man named Sam, and he is providing the funds for the new business. Together they own an adorable, fluffy cat named Butterball. Unfortunately on the night of the soft opening she and Sam breakup after a huge fight, and her aunt's caretaker is murdered. Now her aunt and Sam are both suspects, and Dee is determined to prove they are both innocent.

There is a very attractive detective, cat fights (with actual cats, not women), a new hire who also happens to be an ex-con, and an overdose of opiates. Who is wreaking all this havoc? Well you have to read this fun cozy mystery to find out. Will the restaurant every open? And who will claim Butterball?

Cute, unique, and light-hearted murder mystery. Loved the characters, who were unique and quirky enough to seem like real people. Not usually my genre but glad I came across it- definitely going to listen to the next one in the series!
