Publisher's summary
The people of Kallistar believed the land was in peace… but darkness stirs in the North…
On the eve of the autumn equinox, unicorn shifter Sybil Vandeleur is kidnapped and stolen away to the Kingdom of Shadowvale, charged with treason against the crown. Only, she has never committed any crimes.
Aramis Adrastos, crown prince of Shadowvale, is told otherwise. Tasked by his father to capture the leader of a rebel group, he corners the woman planning to infiltrate the palace and take down the kingdom from the inside. But as soon as he lays eyes on her, destiny and duty become tangled with desire and need. She incites his anger, fills him with longing, and makes him question everything he believes in. Her very presence tempts him to betrayal. Chained in a dungeon, at the mercy of an evil queen, Sybil’s only hope for salvation lies with the prince who was raised to loathe her, just for being a shifter.
In a world strained from rebellion and rife with injustice, two adversaries fight to overcome their prejudices and face the true enemy before them.
From author Fleur DeVillainy, comes a captivating, magical book that blends romance and adventure into a tantalizing listen.
***
If you are a fan of fantasy romance stories with fairytale vibes and plot twists that will keep you guessing, then you definitely do not want to miss this incredible adventure. Filled with mythical creatures, endearing side companions, a morally grey yet lovable cinnamon roll MMC, and the concept of fated mates, this story has it all.

Faye agreed to her sister’s brilliant idea to sneak into the Hunter’s Moon ball. A night the vampires in attendance held sacred, lusting under the eerie glow of the blood red moon. Faye was no vampire. She wasn’t even a race that possessed magic. Her ceremony failed, marking her an Anarian. A mortal without magic. After a run in with the Shadow Prince, Faye begins dreaming of him. His yearnful gaze leaves her feeling cherished after she wakes. A pleasant daydream, since men like him didn’t exist. Story
Long ago, Requiem was plagued by war and abandoned by the gods but Death saved the suffering people, giving each soul a hundred years of immortality. With that grace, he also sent two Maidens. Generations later, the Life Maiden is missing and Princess Deyanira is nothing more than a trained weapon. A hunter. A murderer wrenched into Death's dark court to have the name of her next victim seared onto her palm.

Looking for a new fantasy romance series that combines the "snarky mortal woman navigates a world hostile to her species" vibes of The Serpent and the Wings of Night with the "questioning my chastity vow in the face of this hot new mysterious male in my life" energy of From Blood and Ash plus the "we're conducting an investigation together but are struggling to keep our hands off each other" tension of Crescent City: House of Earth and Blood? The auction block awaits, and a vicious vampire prince wants me and what flows through my veins. So I make a run for it, only to end up falling at the feet of a fae warden. Technically, Roar, the Warden of the West, should return me to the vampire court, but he has other ideas. He needs a fake fiancée. The deal: if I play his dutiful partner at the Winter Court and help him trick the cold King of Winter, Roar will hide me from the blood-suckers intent on draining the life from me. I agree, and for a while, it seems like nothing can go wrong. That is until Vale sets his sights on me.

Story
It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

This story line is so evocative! The cast was amazing!!! I love the idea of unicorn shifters. I grew up loving The Last Unicorn, and this is a great read/ listen. I love how two narrators can bring so many characters to life!!!!!!!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

I wasn't ready!!!
I was NOT Ready For how amazing this audio production would be. First off, the narrators were PERFECTION. I loved all the music and sound effects. Next level!! One thing I'll say was, this is not a spicy book. But it is steamy slow burn!!! The dynamic between the 2 MC's was fire. Fated mates is not a personal favorite of mine, BUT I really liked how this author did it. It didn't feel too insta-love. Which for me is a plus! I can't wait to see how their relationship grows. This book was adventurous, and engaging. So good. I can not wait for book 2!!

Why isn't everyone talking about this audio book?
fabulously produced! duel narration per chapter. engaging story with an interesting magic system and world. The book is well written and captivating! I couldn't put it down. I read this in one day! I cannot believe I randomly stumbled upon this book on my own. everyone should be reading and recommending it! If you are into romantasy, unicorn shifters, he falls first, fated mates, found family and whitty banter, I highly recommend the book and seriously recommend listening to the audio version. The banter is even better with duel voice acting. You're welcome!

Love the storytelling
First off I loved the story. Secondly I loved the way this was narrated. I loved the dual narrators and that whether it was Aramis or Sybil’s POV Anthony did all the male voices and Jacci did all the female. Both did an excellent job and made the story really come alive. I also really liked the occasional background music and sound effects. It really enhanced the story and added to the tension.

The narrators were amazing
Story:
Sky of Thorns is the start of the Vandeleur Trilogy. This is character-driven book following Sibyl and Aramis. While the focus on the main characters' development was strong, the world-building felt a bit lacking for me, which made the pacing too slow at times.
Performance:
This was a well produced audiobook. It was very entertaining. The narrators did an amazing job depicting each character, main or not. If I hadn't known there were only two narrators, I would have thought there were at least three. I also appreciated that Jacci and Anthony narrated their characters in all chapters, regardless of whose POV it was. Personally, I sometimes cringe when a male narrator changes his voice to portray a female character, same goes with a female narrator.
The sound effects at few areas were a nice addition. It made the audiobook more engaging and entertaining to listen to.
Overall, it was an okay start to a trilogy and I would still be reading the second book.

A fun romantasy novel!
This was a really fun listen! The production and the duet narration style is amazing. I wanted to read this because I heard it had a unicorn shifter, and I guess I was just hoping for a little more equine content than what was actually in it. Certain parts felt a little rushed, but overall I really enjoyed it!

A lovely adventurous romantic fantasy
This was a beautifully created audio book. I loved how unique a unicorn shifter story sounded so that alone drew me in, but the author and narrators made sure to keep my interested the entire story not just for the overall idea of it. I quickly fell in love with a side character that I cannot wait to hear more from but the MFC and MMC were fun to watch blossom from enimies to lovers. I loved the little background noises added throughout and the narrators made me enjoy the story even more because they had different voices for different characters and didn’t feel monotone or boring to me. Overall a more cozy fantasy feel but a few darker moments coming from characters who you’ll love to hate.
