Story
My night club, The Dragon’s Den, is heaven on earth. For a dragon, that’s saying something. I have constant access to sin after delicious sin as well as a steady stream of women in my bed who are eager for me to corrupt them. I’ll admit, the baby someone left on my doorstep was unexpected. Likewise, the positive DNA test was damning, so I did what every dragon daddy in my position would do—I hired a nanny.

Exciting Story!
The Light on Olympus is shining a little more brightly since Zed, the descendant of Zeus, and Tempest, the small town librarian, found love in the Storm Chasers. Zephyr is one step closer to uniting the demigods with their one true love and now he's tasked with locating Ash, the demigod dragon shifter and the leader of the Smoke Jumpers. The Smoke Jumpers are secretive in the job they do, and how they work to keep the world safe from disastrous fires. Ember is a trainee at the fire department, hoping one day that she'll be worthy of being the chief. Her father is now the chief, but is very dismissive of her talents, with an obvious bias that women should keep the building clean by sweeping and cleaning the uniforms of ash and filth. She has always felt home around the flames and analyzing how advances and improvements can be made. When the Smoke Jumpers appear out of the sky, she feels a sense of coming home, but their secretive mission has to be protected. The dragon-shifter leader notices something special about her and even he knows that he's found his mate. But the firefighters aren't going to let the Smoke Jumpers control the show and they plan and fight against them because everyone knows that dragons and humans just do not get along. As Ember and Ash work together to form an unbreakable bond, there are realities and discoveries to prove that dragons and firefighters are more alike than different. I really enjoyed this story and continue to be delighted at the "reflection of fire" in their names. Ember, Blaze, Ash and Smoke provide an added twist. The narration is very well done by Katie Bloomwood. Her dynamic, well-modulated voice gives each character an individual personality and unique attitude.

smoke and flame
The second book in a series of gods who aren't looking for love but find it anyway with the help from a hero in training. Prejudices and familial protective attitudes cause friction as the characters find their true place. Recommend reading the series in order but it's not necessary.

Where There’s Smoke…
This is the second book in the Sons of Olympus Trilogy by Eden Royale that I’ve read, and I enjoyed it as much as the first book. I was glad that Ember finally came into her own, I just wish she could have done it a little sooner. I loved the chemistry between her and Ash, as well as the relationship she developed with Smoke, and Blaze. Her relationship with her father, I would have loved to see that developed a little more. But I loved the fact that her aunt Lydia was there to give her as much love, support, and encouragement as she could.

Smoke Jumper!
This is an absolute page turner of a story. I listened to the audio version and kept wanting the narrator to talk faster. The narrator did a really good job bringing the characters and their story to life. Ash, a demigod and dragon shifter, and Ember, a firefighter in training. This is so good that I plan to pick up the next title in the series. The author does a wonderful job brining the Greek Gods and mythology to life. The story is fun with some delightful surprises and twists along the way.

Interesting World Building!
This is the second book in the Sons of Olympus series, a Greek mythology, dragon shifter, and magical romance. Ash and Ember's romance is original, complex, entertaining, and captivating. The characters are amazing. Ash, a demigod dragon shifter, is handsome, and protective. Ember, a small town firefighter, is strong, smart, and determined. They definitely are opposites attract. The storyline is well paced, and intriguing, filled with mystery, action, and twists and turns. Katie Bloomwood did a great job bringing this story to life. Looking forward to listening to Heart Breaker, the next book in the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Peculiar Story
This story had two distinct parts not adequately tied together: the first longer part with the heroine trying to buck the system at the firehouse she works at and getting to know the hero and the second shorter part about the classic battle between good and evil. As you may guess, as a book in the series called the Sons of Olympus, this has a supernatural element, but it takes the concept further and makes the entire book a supernatural spin on reality. Firefighters are depicted as nearly on the level of the demi-gods, not quite as they are in real life. It seems, in this book, the fate of the world rests upon a small band of them!
The heroine makes stupid mistakes throughout the book, and I hated how she constantly put herself in danger without thinking it through. She would just head off and do something boneheaded! Despite this, I felt sorry for her and how her fire chief father treated her. He doesn't believe in her at all or believe her when she tries to point out that the young man whom he favors as the next firefighter is actually a bully and not worthy of joining their ranks. The father is bullheaded to the extreme. Frankly, I just wished Ember would quit that fire station rather than continue to be abused and misused by her father and the other firefighters. Her romance with Ash isn't explored as well as it should have been. I didn't get a sense of them truly falling for each other, but at some point, it just seemed to be expected and known even though it wasn't shown. They certainly have some opposition from his crew. Given that the romance was inadequately developed, their intimate scenes seemed abrupt, tacked on, and didn’t quite go with the flow of the story.
The end battle seemed like it came out of nowhere. Yes, a few hints were dropped about it, but not to the extent of the role it would play or what it even meant in the grand scheme of things. Much was missing throughout. This part of the book could have been excellent if the author had taken more care in building up to it and showing us what it really meant to the world she created. I have the next book in the series queued up and ready to go, and I hope it is better than this one.

Fighting Fire With Fire....fighters
Gleeful Goblin Review: I don't know if having a Greek Mythology Phase in childhood is something most introverts go through or not but I certainly did and so when I see books loosely based on those stories and pantheon I'm always interested to see how the author spins familiar stories/settings/myths into something new. The series is a single narrator but dual POV and the narrator imo does a great job. The voices are differentiated enough that it's easy to tell when each person is speaking and the tone/delivery is smooth and easy to listen to for each book I've gone through so far, which is excellent.
For this story we are following FMC Ember and MMC Ash. Both characters fight fires in their own particular ways; MMC magically and FMC via mundane methods. I got a total kick out of Ember because she's this fun blend of driven, practical, and a dash of madcap daredevil. That dash is what makes mysterious and hunky Ash a very drool worthy temptation to Ember, distracting her and making her question what she thought was a very straightforward path of becoming a firefighter and working under her father who is the fire chief. Ash is a brave but brash risk taker who starts our story off as kinda irresponsible even though he's supposed to lead his team of dragons and his temperament runs a bit hot and cold, even when it comes to his treatment of Ember.
Something I found kinda frustrating about the story is there's a very classic Disney Little Mermaid vibe of "But Daddy, I love him!" as well as mild rebellion that was a little confused feeling, making it feel like I'm not sure if Ember is an adult or a teenager. Her father also treats Ember like she's Cinderella only fit to do scut work and he doesn't recognize *any* of the hard work she's legitimately put in for YEARS at the fire station and for no conceivable reason. That young teen dynamic is a style I'm not a huge fan of, but I'm sure part of it is I'm a late 30's curmudgeon so it was harder to relate to for me. I also didn't know if Hunter, a fellow firefighter hopeful, was supposed to be a bully, professional rival, sort of romantic interest, or something else entirely but he was definitely hateable and supposed to be so that worked well. Ash runs a bit hot and cold through the first half of the book but he is worlds more supportive than Ember's dad even at Ash's coldest moments.
The world building and general common threads in the book series is definitely what has me engaged and so while this book sadly wasn't super my jam I think there's a lot here to enjoy for folks and I'm looking forward to reading more in the series to find characters I connect with!

Great Storyline
I received this audiobook through the Book Sprout program.
I really enjoyed the storyline and the plot line. I like that the book did not fully stick to the traditional storyline and mythology.
The book had a great storyline , a great set of characters, and a nice plot twist you wouldn’t expect.
I definitely enjoyed this authors work !

Dragon Shifter
This is the second book in the Son's of Olympus Series. You can read this book as a standalone. Honestly, this book was the exact same book as book 1 except that the names and skills have changed. Down to the H's two sidekicks, a tough as nails female and a goof-off male, the h's disapproving father (adoptive uncle in book 1), and a magic turbo button.
