WOW

I found this book really interesting, and am now looking on the Internet for more information about the Bell witch, it gripped me from the start, and I loved it.

I plan on giving this another listen, as I am sure I have missed bits from outside distractions.

Wow!

I received this book in hopes of a honest review.

That said, I loved this listen. I live about 20 minutes from the location of The Bell Witch Cave and Cemetery. I love the local folklore about it and it was great hearing the history behind it. We just moved into a house that has a lot of history and close to Dunbar Caves in TN and I am searching for the history of the area and I loved hearing about this saga from a local area! Great book and narrator!

Great Account of an Historical Event

Dewey Edwards is superb in his storytelling of a phenomenon still talked about today. And Shannon Edwards narration was captivating. This is a very interesting story. I have heard about this event in American history since I was a child. And by far I would recommend this book/audio book to anyone interested.

Good Documentary of the Phenomenon

I traveled South a few times... and encountered Many who spoke of tthe Bell Witch... I can remember that the Witch had many still shaken all this time later. Having heard the entire accounting... It is no wonder the Locals still respect Kate! I enjoyed this Story very much! This book was provided by the Author free in exchange for a review. Thank You!

Bell Witch Story

I never heard about the Bell Witch before. This was a good third-person account of the story. The narrator's voice was excellent!!

Good account of the Bell Witch

Good historical account of the Bell Witch. I have listened to The Bell Witch: An American Haunting by Brent Monahan a few years back. I remember some basic information from that listen and from what I remember this was consistent with that account. There were a few things that I remember hearing that this book didn’t get into but all in all this was a good account of the haunting. The story unfolds as a historical account of the few years that the family encountered the witch, told about the family after the haunting, and went on to tell of some of the more modern accounts.

I can understand that in general the Bell Witch is a fairly boring haunting given how many movies are out there that make us think hauntings are massive events with heads spinning around, people levitating, and green vomit sprayed all over. While I know there are skeptics on this story, I think for an older tale that proclaims to be true this is quite interesting. Especially since this is one of the first accounts I know of where a supernatural entity is blamed for the death of someone. If you have any interest in the haunting this is a good book to get you into it.

The narrator does a good job telling the story that is all in 3rd person. I think that is a bit harder to deliver as it can become quite dry without any first person accounts. I didn’t really care for the noises in-between the chapters. They were chaotic and distracting from the overall story.

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

Something Wicked! The Bell Witch Phenomenon

I loved this. I can't wait to hear it again. I've heard and read about this my entire life, but to have all this information compiled in such a comprehensive manner is amazingly interesting. I learned so much more than I expected. Great job Dewey Edwards!
