"Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist meets Cinderella in this thoroughly modern romance." (HelloGiggles)

Late one night in a dingy Los Angeles club, Nate and Cameron meet and discover they have much more in common than their love of an obscure indie band. But when Nate learns that Cameron is the heir to a soul-sucking record label - the very one that destroyed his father’s life - he runs away as fast as he can. The only evidence of their brief but intense connection is the blurry photo Cameron snaps of Nate’s Sharpied Chuck Taylors.

When Cameron’s sister Tess - a famous model and socialite - posts the photo on Instagram for her legions of fans, the internet just about breaks with the news of this modern fairy tale. “Anyone know the owner of these shoes?” she writes. “My Prince Charming brother is looking for his Cinderfella!” But while the viral sensation begins to bring the pair back together, their own demons and pasts might get in the way of any happily ever afters….

It’s pretty good

I really love the story so far but is anyone else thrown off by cam voice actor like usually if the voice doesn’t completely match the character I just think we’ll people’s inner voice is different from they’re speaking voice but it’s so drastically different it pulls me out of the story I feel like cam’s voice actor should have been nate’s based on how they’re described not saying all “geeks” and all “attractive muscular” dude should sound the same in everything but even even cam is talking to Nate cams voice is much deeper still love the story though and can’t wait to finish it

Beautifully narrated

I thought the story line was gonna be completely different... It was a good read to listen too but I felt the characters were not very relatable and it felt more fan fictional tha anything... But if you like that stuff this is right for you.

SO GOOD

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I don’t know what I expected, but it wasn’t this. It was such a great book. Narration was wonderful, too.

9 hours & 20 minutes of pure GENIUS

I listened to the whole book in ONE sitting. No breaks for anything. The narrators maybe should’ve been reversed in who was who, but it was great either way. The story was just amazing. I usually still have a bunch of unanswered questions after I finish a book, but the author did such a good job of writing the story, I actually feel pretty satisfied with the answers I got.

To put it simply, this was a really good listen. Well worth the credit and the time.

delightful, predictable comfort food for the ears

completely predictable and completely enjoyable. the perfect listening for one of those happy/sad days when you want the world to make sense. sensitive treatment of sensitive topics. both narrators are good but Cameron's voice was wrong, too high and thin. there were also too many clichés (knock me over with feather, etc.). however, that won't stop you from enjoying this simple, reassuring story. thanks

Hmmm ok but could be better

So to be honest one of the narrators is too good and for me will always be a character from another book.
This book is not my cup of tea. Some expressions are too cheese and just too childish.
But I'm positive overall and I hope the writer will write more and produce some even better books.

It’s fine.

I’ve been reading and listening to audiobooks and this one fell short to me. The narration is well done which is mostly what kept me engaged, but I found the story to be mediocre. Nothing too exiting from this book, but not horrible either.

Total surprise!

Expecting a cute, gay Cinderella story, I was sucked into a beautifully painted story about two people connecting on a new level and against all odds. Even though I know next to nothing about song writing, the window into the world of song writing duos felt completely genuine, as though told from experience. It reminded me roughly of the TV show Nashville, which had given me a new regard for country music, and the true song writers behind it, when I had convinced myself I would never like such things. For me, this book was totally worth the sleepless night I took to finish it!
