About this listen

#1 Internationally Bestselling Authors

‘’Want a look into the shadowy world of US special operations? Sons of Valor puts you on the front lines. Nobody does action like Andrews & Wilson!'’—Jack Carr, Navy SEAL sniper and New York Times bestselling author of The Devil’s Hand

A new generation of elite American warriors faces off against an enemy unlike any other.

Sons of valor …

Navy SEAL Keith “Chunk” Redman has been one of the military’s top doorkickers since the day he pinned on his trident: loyal, single-minded, lethal. Tasked to lead a new, covert team of Tier One SEALs—the most elite special operators in the world—Chunk can no longer simply rely on the status quo. To safeguard America, he needs help to stay a step ahead of its adversaries.

Brilliant at spotting patterns in the data that others miss, ex-CIA analyst Whitney Watts sees evidence of a troubling link between illicit Chinese arms sales and an attack on a US military convoy in Afghanistan. If she’s right, it would portend not only massive casualties, but a devastating threat to global stability.

Sons of war …

From the ashes of a never-ending war, a new generation of terrorists has arisen: sophisticated, tech-savvy, and hiding in plain sight among America’s allies. Battered by the Taliban and by the West, they call themselves al Qadr—Power and Destiny—and they’re determined to wrest back control of their homeland. Armed with a powerful combat drone, they can strike with deadly precision at US forces in the region—but their ambitions reach far, far beyond that.

A new legacy …

The new Tier One’s first mission will require them to not only prove themselves, but to stop an enemy who’s using military tactics against them. Chunk and his team aren’t just the tip of the spear; they’re America’s first, last, and best counterterrorism defense. And they couldn’t have arrived at a more urgent—and perilous—time.

An author that finally included enemy perspectives

I love that there's an author that finally had the balls to include enemy perspective. Other than that pretty much the same old SOF Story but told decently and I enjoyed well enough to pay for the next book in the series.

Tense

Not the sort of book I normally read (a roughty tuffty book for the boys) but the characters and tight storyline drew me in completely. The interplay between the cunning and calculating terrorist team and the Tier One Seal team trying to identify and stop them was engrossing. Both sides had an unwilling tech/analyst genius being swept into a dangerous high stakes world adding additional character depth. I was definitely rooting for Heels/Whitney. A great counterfoil to the very masculine world of the Seals. During this book, I passed my 4 months of audible listening in a little over 2 years so I consume a lot of audible hours. I like trying new genres and I’ll be downloading the next in the series. The authors did a great job with keeping the tension high and the characters deep with multiple layers making them believable. I even grew to accept Ray Porter trying to do a female voice!

Thoughtful wild ride

I read military history as well as some mission based fiction. There is no after thought, about how they feel because they don’t feel, they just do! Add in a female analyst at the top of her game, but not a Navy Seal, you get thoughtful, interesting takes on all of the aspects of a critical mission. I loved it!!
Take your heart pills!!
You are in for a wild ride!!

Great story!

This was a well-written book. The sequel to Collateral, and hopefully not the author’s last one.

Great story. Great narration.

The book was well written, but it was the best narration of over 90 books I have listened to on Audible. This guy brought this book to life and kept you enthralled with the situations these warriors found themselves in. Don't know Ray Porter, but I will be more inclined to listen to any book he has narrated. Great job.

Excellent read!!

Have you ever wanted to be a navy seal without actually getting shot at? Have you ever wanted to save the free world without actually putting down the bag of potato chips and Dr. Pepper 2 liter? Do you crave excitement in your life without the actual danger? Or do you simply want to forget about the long drive to your average job in your 4-cylinder, 300k mile Honda civic?

Well this book is the one for you. Not gonna lie the title and cover art caught my eye but within 10 minutes I was riveted. The story line had me thinking I was a Mk18 toting armored, heavily trained Tier 1 operator about to take down jihadis and save my fellow soldiers. It took me through the intense feelings and moments that the navy seals encountered during their super secret mission. The narrator is some linguistic expert or something because one moment he was nailing a hick Texas accent and the next moment speaking in Arabic or something. Needless to say he is EXCELLENT. I don't know if Oculus headsets can top the level of immersion that I felt while listening to this novel. He really makes you feel like you are with these guys, boots on the ground, dropping Taliban bad guys, calling in airstrikes, solving problems, zipping up and down ropes, and flying in a helicopter. If you read this far into my review just go ahead and spend the few extra bucks and get this title. You won't regret it and best of all, you can be a navy seal without actually putting in the hard work and training the real navy seals have to. That said, thank you to all military personnel for your service and I hope you enjoy this title!
