About this listen

Jack, Gray, and Mason have accepted that love comes in many flavors and settled into a three-way relationship. Things haven't been easy, and now that Mason has gone back to school and Gray is interested in a detective position, Jack is feeling lonely. His lovers aren't around very often, and he misses lying around in bed, enjoying the benefits of living with two hot men. But Jack has secrets. He's uncomfortable every time he puts his uniform on. He's never recovered from seeing Mason held hostage, and he's no longer sure he was meant to be a cop.

While stressing over his own future and facing pressure from Gray and Mason to bring their relationship out of the closet, Jack is severely wounded in the line of duty. His recovery, both physical and emotional, might be more than their unconventional relationship can bear. Jack is going to need all the courage and support his lovers can give him if he's going to bring himself back from the dead and create the life he wants to live.

A wonderful sequel

Any additional comments?

Listening to FITTING IN and SORTING OUT right after one another, I have to say that I liked the sequel more. Mason, Jake and Mason have settled into their relationship, their feelings for one another strong and solid. There was much more storyline in my opinion, as was the character development. The first book seemed kind of rushed to me, whereas I enjoyed every second of this one, including the scorching hot sex scenes.

The story picks up directly where it left off, this time narrated from Jake’s point of view. Gray’s decision to become a detective creates some exasperations within the threesome. Jake is still riled up after witnessing Mason being held at gunpoint. He felt so helpless and he fears when he and Gray are not even partners anymore, his insecurities might get worse. He is questioning himself and his job choice. When things take a turn to the worse at his job, Jake reaches his breaking point.

While Jake is trying to find himself professionally, he has also come to terms with Gray’s persistence to finally not only come out as gay, but to reveal and stick to their three-way relationship as well…

The emotional yet realistic struggle Jake goes through, that coming out scene at the bar, the voluntary work at the LGBT center – and most of all: Henry. It all adds up to a beautiful conclusion and I am sad to know that we will not get a story from Gray’s point of view. And as far as I am aware of, we will not even get Henry’s story either, which makes me kind of sad. This boy is a true gem and I would have loved to learn everything about him!

Now to the narrator, the wonderful Greg Boudreaux. It was not the first time I listened to an audio book narrated by him, and I hope there will be many more to come. His intonation, his breathing life into all those characters in such a way you never struggle to keep them apart… and his melodic deep voice in general. I have a feeling he could narrate the telephone book and I would still enjoy listening to him.

Great Follow-up Story for Jack, Mason & Gray

I absolutely loved this vocal performance. Greg Boudreaux did the perfect voice for Gray…and had distinguishing voices for Jack and Mason. And his inflection and emotions helped me really feel the book.

I loved getting Jack’s POV in this book…it helped understand where he’s coming from with all the changes going on. I would have liked Gray’s thoughts but I know we get them in book 4 (their 3rd book). Jack struggled a bit in this story…and he really had to rely on Mason and Gray to get him through. They became stronger as a trio as they worked through these issues. The sex with them is off the charts hot again.

I think Henry may have stolen the show a little bit and I’d love to see a follow up story about him when he’s older.

Overall, this is a great story that was narrated extremely well.

Mostly about Jake and his insecurities....

So the saga between Grey, Jake, & Mason continues... and it's like watching a movie. It's described so realistically that it makes you feel like you're there. The narration is so beautifully done. Greg Boudreaux does a wonderful job playing all the different men in this book. He makes the story even better.

Jake gets shot and as he's recovering... he starts questioning everything. Grey and Mason are there every step of the way. New characters come into play to make the story even more involving.

This book is different than the first and can be read as a standalone too. BUT, the first book is way better. So, read them in order. You will enjoy both.

Great followup for Gray, Jack and Mason

Would you consider the audio edition of Sorting Out to be better than the print version?

Yes, I love when a narrator can truly bring the characters to life.

If you’ve listened to books by Silvia Violet before, how does this one compare?

It's a continuation of book 1 so about the same I guess

What does Greg Boudreaux bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He brings the written characters to life and gives them depth that the print version can't possibly give.

If you could rename Sorting Out, what would you call it?

I don't understand this question. What's wrong with the title the Author gave the story?

Any additional comments?

Sorting it Out picks up Jack, Gray and Mason's story where it left off at the end of 'Fitting In'. When Gray gets promoted to Detective, it cause a slight rift at home. With Jack's mind preoccupied - he still feels helpless after Mason being held at gunpoint - add to that Gray's promotion and the fact that they aren't partners at work anymore and Jack is left questioning himself. Then he gets shot on the job and all that does is add one more thing to his confusion... does he even want to be a cop anymore?

This was a wonderful but rocky continuation to this working threesomes story. They finally come out and though it lifts a weight off their shoulders not to have to hide or lie about what they mean to each other anymore, it doesn't come without it's complications. Not everyone is understanding of same sex relationships as it is, make it a threesome and it's even more so. I think what I loved most about this book was Jack's journey of self awareness. And while these three are always sexy and passionate, I thought the sexual content in this book bordered on too much. It didn't always add to or advance the story, a couple times it was sex just for the sake of adding more sex, and that didn't work for me.

Narrated by Greg Boudreaux (the spicier side of Greg Tremblay) and as usual, his tones and nuances were utter perfection. While each characters has their own unique and specific tone, I really, really enjoy hearing him voice Mason and his adorable naivete. These three men love each other in abundance and that really comes through in the narration.
