Publisher's summary

She holds the power to enchant him, but he only wants to debunk it.

When a lass's college sweetheart calls her insane and promptly dumps her, she has a right to expect never to see him again. But Luke Turner has returned - by crashing my cousin's wedding reception, no less. Has he come to win me back? No. The scunner wants to "study" me so he can determine how to disabuse me of my Wiccan beliefs.

Maybe Luke is the only man who ever made me wish I were "normal", but I don't feel that way anymore.

Kirsty MacTaggart was my first love - until she announced she's a witch. The girl must be insane to believe she has "witchy powers". Twelve years after we broke up, I find myself face to face with the only woman I've ever loved. But the experiment I'm about to conduct isn't quite what I've told Kirsty it is. Will she ever forgive me when she finds out my ulterior motive?

Fall under the spell of the tenth book in the best-selling Hot Scots series of contemporary romances!

Like the story, not so much the narration

This is a tough one for me. It definitely wasn't my favorite narration in this series. The narrators both pronounced a lot of things incorrectly, repeatedly, and the accents weren't the best. Aaron was good as Luke, and some of the Scots, but his female characters, especially Kirsty was irritating. Marian was good as Kirsty, but her Scots men all sounded like old men. I did really like the story though, so I was able to make it through. Actually doing the whole series again, so its my second time listening. Edited review to add a few things I missed last time.

The chapter at the end for Magnus' story gave me hope for the next book though.

Loving the Hot Scots!

I was really on the fence with how I felt about Luke throughout this entire book. He treated Kirsty horribly in their past and I didn't understand how she could still have feelings for him after that. That being said, he did grow on me about halfway through, but he really had a TON of groveling to do with her and that he did.
Aside from that, I did enjoy Kirsty and Luke's story, even though he made me so mad with the lying.
Marian and Aaron did a great job with Anna's characters in their performances.

Second Chance Romance!

This is the book 10 in the Hot Scots Series. I love this Series! Kirsty and Luke's second chance to love is original, sexy, hilarious, and heartwarming. Kirsty is such a wonderful character, feisty and lovely. Luke is enigmatic, and handsome. Marian Hussey, Aaron Shedlock, and Shane East did a fantastic job with the narration. I enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it!

Fabulous narrations!

There is nothing more satisfying than a feisty, confident woman! Kirsty McTaggert has found her path. Burnt by her college sweetheart when he found out her gift, she pours herself into her Wicca ways and has built herself a successful business. When that man now comes calling, wanting to do experiments to debunk her claim as a witch. Luke has a job to do, but he can't tell Kirsty. He will collect the data, compare it with science and prove there is no second sight. But feelings are getting in the way, and now there are second thoughts. Will their love prevail? Fun! Fun! Fun! This book has it all. Scottish men, feisty woman and an American that is swoon worthy and lovable! I am drawn to the stories that include Wicca and this one was a joy to listen to. With family history coming to light and dangerous greed looming, the story is fast paced, with thrilling excitement and romance! Loved it!

Marian Hussey is always fantastic, and this is no exception. Her Scottish brogue is spot on, and her personality for Kirsty is spunky! Aaron Shedlock, always a favorite is fantastic as Luke. His love shines through all of his need to believe in science as Shedlock builds his personality. And the epilogue with Shane East is just a treat building for the next book! Can't wait! This is a fun, easy listen and one you do not want to miss!

Perfection!

As a huge fan of Anna Durand and the Hot Scots series, I was so looking forward to hearing Kirsty and Luke’s story and it was everything that I wanted and expected it to be and more. The McTaggerts are a large and very close-knit family and are always getting in everyone’s business, particularly when it comes to romantic relationships. If you are up to date with the Hots Scots series, then you will recognize many McTaggert family members and their spouses written beautifully into this latest story of second chance love, forgiveness, personal growth and finally finding that elusive HEA. Kirsty and Luke have never lost the passion and spark between them, even after 10 years apart, but there has been a lot of water under the bridge and apologies and explanations are needed before Luke can find his way back into Kirsty’s heart and trust. Aaron Shedlock and Marian Hussey were fantastically cast and really did a great job with some very tricky and difficult accents. Hearing Shane East in the epilogue as the next McTaggert to find his way to an HEA has me counting the days to the next release in the series. If you are new to Anna Durand, be sure to start at the beginning and enjoy this beautiful series full of family, love and hot Scottish accents. You won’t be sorry!

Loved it!

Spellbound in a Kilt is book 10 in the Hot Scots series and tells the story of Luke Turner and Kirsty MacTaggart. With every story in the series I fall more in love with that wonderful crazy MacTaggart family and all of their shenanigans… Can't get enough of those sexy men in kilts. This second-chance romance with a spicy, sex-positive heroine is just what I needed. It includes some great insight into the Wiccan faith and Scottish history that was quite beautiful, especially given that Luke has always been steadfast in requiring facts and science to explain everything. Opposites attract with fiery results! When they see each other for the first time in many years their connection is electric. I really enjoyed the evolution of their relationship as they learned to understand each other and opened up the possibility of a happy ending. Like the other books in this series, this is quite spicy - which is exactly perfect for me! Hot stuff!

Aaron Shedlock is a favorite narrator and his performance really sealed the deal with this book for me. Marian Hussey is new to me and I will definitely look out for her in other books. Great job!

I received this audiobook in exchange for my honest review. Love this series!

Mactaggart mysteries

The first mystery is whether or not Kirsty MacTaggart actually has the second sight. Luke Turner certainly doesn't think so. He knows that science is the only way to understand a confusing world. Due to Alex's meddling, Luke has an excuse to come back in Kirsty's life and convince her scientifically that magical things do not exist. Then maybe he can face the fact that he has always loved her. Kirsty is still angry with Luke, and she can't resist the chance to show him that she does have the second sight in a way that he will accept. Old feelings come back, and the purpose of the experiments begins to change. They share things with each other that they had not when they were first a couple.
The second mystery is what Luke's boss has up his sleeve that gives him such power over Luke's actions. That leads to the involvement of several of the MacTaggart men in a terrific action sequence.
The third mystery is the fate of Kieran MacTaggart, an ancestor of Kirsty's. That mystery will not be resolved for a while, but we get to enjoy other MacTaggart stories in the meantime.
The narrators do a terrific job with this story. There are lots of characters and accents to keep straight, and there are also the competing emotions that Luke and Kirsty experience. I thought that they both nailed their performances and added some fun to the mix, too.
