Two mail-order bride romances from Marisa Masterson!

A Farmer for Christmas

Children! Myra Smithson is tired of them. She didn't expect to be disinherited or to end up as her brother's unpaid nanny and cook. Thank goodness her matchmaker neighbor offers Myra a way out of the situation.

Reinhold "Holder" Sittig knows he can't expect his terminally ill mother to care for his daughters. Following advice, he sends away for a mail-order bride. Too bad he forgets to mention his children in the letter.

What happens after this Christmas bride discovers she's once again expected to be the unpaid nanny and cook? Will she find any tenderness from her stubborn German husband?

A Keeper for Christmas

How could this man fool the people around him?

At first glance, mail-order bride Merrilee Rollins knew her deranged groom was normal. Actually, incredible seemed more apt. With his black wavy hair and blue eyes stirring something deep within her, she ignored mystery surrounding him and went ahead with their Christmas wedding.

Why did the strange accidents begin happening?

Soon after his bride’s arrival, Carl Sittig's problems started. Merrilee’s presence made it difficult to maintain his facade of lunacy. After touching her once, he longed to be her husband in truth. Having witnessed a murder, if he wanted to stay alive he would have to pretend to be crazy.

With a new threat from Merrilee's past bringing danger to the couple, does this marriage have any chance?

Sweet & Clean

Two very sweet romances. Two lovely brides; two handsome brothers; four adorable little girls. But not all is well. Will Merrilee and Myra be the women who would be able to help; Myra to help Holder accept the twins whose birth brought the loss of his wife; Merrilee to help Carl who needed her to care for and tend to him? I am always so pleased to find a good, clean story I can recommend to others.

Ally Sommers did a great job of narration. A Farmer for Christmas was read a little fast, but I just slowed it down a bit on my iPod. A Keeper for Christmas was better and I went back to normal speed.

Two for the price of one

Narrator was good. Here are two mail order bride stories in the same town and family. First one, A Farmer for Christmas, introduced us to Myra and Holder. Holder is a widower and needs a wife to take care of his ailing mother and daughters. Myra is tired of being her brothers slave. So she signs up and tells her brother. What does he do, locks her away. Myra has to sneak out at night and heads to her new life with no kids, or so she thought. Well, she can't go back and makes the best of it. The second book is A Keeper for Christmas. We meet again Myra and Holder, because his brother Carl needs a wife, so Merrilee comes to take care of him. He was injured, and slow in the head, or so she thought. Two stories, with a little humor and some romance. Enjoyable.

Wonderful stories!

Holder and Carl both needed wives. Myra and Merrielee needed husbands. Fate brought them together and love bonded their lives and made them a family.

These two stories are part of the full series, but because they are about two brothers, it makes this performance that much sweeter!

Two wonderful stories

Two stories that are fresh, fun with a hit of suspension. The plots are engaging and make you happy. The narration is excellent, very smooth and easy to get caught up in the story.

Grab these books, your favorite beverage and settle in for a great time!!!

Great audio book

A Farmer For Christmas is the first audio book to listen in this 2 for 1 by Marisa Masterson. This is a sweet Mail Order Bride romance about Myra Smithson and Rinehold (Holder) Sittig. Holder sends away for a bride to help with the care of his children and his ailing mother. Myra, made a mistake and loses her home and her inheritance in one go. Her bother moves his wife and children into the house and Myra is expected to be their servant in every way. So Myra runs to a family friend for help. The friend has a groom for her and has sent the money for her ticket. Myra purchases the ticket and her brother finds out and locks her in her room. Myra climes out of her room and down a tree just to get away. The Matchmaker helps her in more ways then one so she can get to her groom. The second audio listened to was A Keeper For Christmas. This one was about Merrill Rollins and Carl Sittig. Merrill is trying to get away from her stepfather after her mother dies after a short marriage. Her stepfather wants her to marry his nephew later turns out the nephew is his son. So Merrill turns to an family friend for help.the Matchmaker helps in several ways including going out to get her a train ticket in the middle of the night,to her groom. While Carl is injured in an accident involving White Slave’s. Carl is playing as a child, as his friend in killed, the people involved do not think he knows what is going on. But his new wife knows right off he is faking being a child. She confronts him and is told the truth. Still the White slaves case has to be solved. The narrator in both books was quite good. I had no problem listening to either book, the speed and clarity was very good. Really enjoyed listening to the books.

Double Fun

While the first of these two stories implies the unofficial matchmaker already has some successes to her credit, each of these tales stands alone. However, enjoying them linked provides a great deal of continuity in the larger story arc and makes for a number of enjoyable hours listening. In each case the young woman is escaping unscrupulous relatives and arrives into an utterly unexpected situation which requires great faith and perseverance to reach her HEA (Happily Ever After). Clever plotting and highly entertaining!
