Take a Leap of Faith and Start a Photography Business

This book will guide you in starting your own photography business; it's truly an advantage if you are a photographer by profession, but if not, it doesn't mean that you could not open your own business. I can help you get the ball rolling.

I know that starting a photography business - any business, in fact - is not a walk in the park. It's also not roses and rainbows; there will be difficulties along the way and maybe at one point you might even think of quitting. Lower your chances of being discouraged by being equipped - one way to do that is to listen to, savor, and finish this book.

Here are a few things you will learn from this book:

  • The four main markets you should choose from in starting a photography business
  • A list of the investments you should make, including tips and tricks; this includes camera, lighting, backdrops, etc.
  • How do you legalize your business? What about licenses? Permits? Taxes? What is LLC?
  • A step-by-step guide on how you can promote your business
  • Should you declare copyright on your photos?
  • Best printers according to reviewers
  • What you need to include when creating a contract
  • How will you encourage your clients to leave reviews?
  • Analyzing your business and "stalking" your competition
  • And a whole lot more!

Great Business advice

Advice that is timeless and actionable. Author stresses focus on people and profit which is the best advice a business can have. I actually applied some of Brian's instructions into my job and harvested profitable results with my teams, customers, workflow, processes, procedures, and strategies. This book tells you everything you need to know about virtual assistants, including where to find the best ones, how to hire them, and best practices for working with them on an ongoing basis. Great guide and easy to understand!

Any additional comments?

I loved this book and the information provided. Nick does a GREAT job of breaking down the phases and steps to hiring a Virtual Assistant AND provides great tips on how you the hiring manager should prepare prior to hiring. I looked at the internet for simple tips and tricks that I can apply on my camera. I saw this book while looking for guides in photography. I learned that this kind of business is a little expensive based on this book but it is a good investment someday. This book taught what to do and what I need in this kind of business.
Excellent!!! Nick has opened my eyes to a whole new world of managing my personal and professional business.

A good business guide

It's written to fit anyone's personal situation and filled with so many unique ideas that if you just follow what it says, there's no reason why you can't be out finding a client base immediately. Thank you Russel. It's one thing to know how to make great photographs, but it's another to know how to start/run a business. This book will help me with that! This is a extremely informative book. I am a virtual assistant but I will add it to my resource list for potential clients. It is an awesome introduction for anyone who is new to working with a virtual assistant. Looking forward to the future now.
