Publisher's summary

For all who want to build a life that abounds with connection, friendship, purpose, and meaningful success, Brian Dixon presents a simple yet profound mantra: Start with Your People.

It can be easy to become task-oriented, focusing on the goals ahead of us and checking off our to-do lists rather than focusing on the people in our lives. Entrepreneur and business coach Brian Dixon knows firsthand, and after one too many burned bridges and failed projects, he set out to discover the secret to living a life that matters and finding work you love.

In Start with Your People, Brian shares principles, tips, and personal stories to help you maximize the most important resource to succeed in both life and calling: relationships. Join Brian on a journey to discover the people-first mindset that changes everything, including:

  • Why your family actually helps you succeed, and how to see your kids as a legacy instead of a liability
  • The fastest, safest way to deal with the difficult people in your life
  • A 10-step method to create your own personal mission statement
  • The number one key to unlocking a powerful network
  • Plus, you get 11 powerful mindset hacks including Brian's life-changing morning practice

Perfect for anyone looking to better live their purpose - whether a business executive, employee, stay-at-home mom, college graduate, entrepreneur, pastor, etc. - and lean into your home team as you move forward with clarity and confidence.

Brian says, "When we really get down to it, our main legacy will be the investment we made in people."

What's yours?

First things first: People

Brian Dixon's Start With Your People is practical and innovative: my needed clarity on where to start my next big thing. Recommended for the dreamer, the business owner, the employee, the busy parent, even the retiree. "How can I help?"

Just Do It: Start with Your People!

I listened to Start with Your People: The Daily Decision That Changes Everything by Dr. Brian Dixon this week. Brian’s positive attitude encourages me. His first-hand experience of building relationships, growing in areas where he struggled, being humble enough to admit and share those struggles, and then providing clear action steps to help move us forward with our own relationships and personal goals is something I can cheer for.

There are so many great ideas Brian shares in his book, but one really inspired me to also buy the hardcover. Basically, he said don’t go on to read (or listen to) the next book until you’ve tried doing some of the action steps promoted in this book. I agree. I think we gloss over the “doing” part that authors give us and then we wonder why their strategy or ideas didn’t work. It’s because we didn’t do them. I bought the hardcover because I need the visual aid to help me work on his action steps. I know they will benefit my people and me too.

Read this book!

Simply one of the best books I've read on the subject. Brian packs this book with great wisdom for life, whether it applies to your personal wellbeing or business pursuits, it's loaded with great stuff and has ample personal stories to give it depth. It literally feels like Brian is your personal business, relationship and wellbeing coach as you work through the book. If you're like me and bombarded with so many titles to read on business, leadership, productivity and wellbeing, this is a great way to start - he's done an incredible job of creating and curating great content and sharing just the right amount of details to be helpful but not overwhelming. And thanks Brian for giving us some solid action steps forward and reminding us that truly thriving in life requires our people.
