Publisher's summary

Once upon a galaxy, a spaced-out writer launched a novel exploring a starry saga set in a universe much like a certain trek we know and love. Here, for the first time, you can experience this voyage into trekkerness. The names are new, but you might recognize the drama and excitement of an epic encounter aboard the star cruiser Exogenesis as it pioneers humanity's journey to greatness among the stars. In this adventure, first contact with the multilingual Vox species goes horribly wrong when the crew's linguist mistakenly uses a forbidden slur. Drawn into a violent revolution, a war of words to decide language dominance, the crew of the Exogenesis races against time to convince the aliens to unite against a greater threat: an unstoppable invasion fleet roaring toward planet Vox from deep space. When revolution and invasion collide, it is up to Captain Joshua Swift and the Exogenesis crew to save the world by revealing the secret behind the slur that started it all, the dark secret linking Vox and invaders in an ancient cycle of slavery, suffering, lies, and death. Don't miss this exciting lost novel by award-winning Star Trek author Robert T. Jeschonek, a master of unique and unexpected science fiction that really packs a punch.

Fan Fiction: The Final Frontier

It's Enterprise fan fiction, but it's pretty good. You'll recognize every character and item description.

Meh It's Star Trek

An advanced civilization freaks out, but I never grasped why? Then I thought about humans as a species. BTW aspirin is still used for headaches in the future.

obviously a nx-01 story

The story was good, but a little bit overly descriptive. The author is trying to give details, but goes to far. It slows the story down to much.
I am curious, why the characters names were changed? It was obviously written as a NX - 01 Archer story. These are not new characters, just renamed.

Star Trek Enterprise knock off.

I becomes obvious early on that this is a rejected Enterprise story. The character names were changed the protect the author from law suits.

Still, it’s a decent story. I just imagine the crew of the NX-01 in place of the story characters. It’s easy to do. They’re all in there.

Narrator was passable. Not my first choice, though.

Great Homage Book

I'm not sure why this story couldn't get licensed under the IP it's clearly an homage to, but it's a great story all the same for any Trek fan. ;)

I suppose my only complaint is that the action/suspense does drag on too long for my tastes at some points. Also, I had one part where I was getting frustrated with, what I'd thought at the time, was inconsistent behavior on the part of the ostensible antagonists, but the major reveal about them does explain why you're actually seeing what you do see in their actions. (so if you get impatient with them, try to hang on)

The portrayal of alien cultural and language differences were spot on! It was awesome to see the science of linguistics be a focal point of a sci fi story.

In experienced Narrator?

The story line wasn't to bad, I've read better. I think what really kind of put me off was the Narrator Alison Pitt. I'm not sure if it was the studio where it was produced or her but it didn't come off well for me or sound at all professional. Guess I got spoiled by other Star Trek books that were better produced and narrated.

Terrible

Robotic narration. Boring! The description sounded interesting. Don’t bother, it isn’t. Is that enough words. I am returning it as soon as I finish this review there is no story obvious in the first dragging 15 minutes. That’s more time than it deserved.
