Publisher's summary

When a Terran weapons scientist finds herself the target of deadly alien assassins, only one fierce alien warrior can keep her safe.

Weapons scientist Dr. Finley Delgado wants to get her new laser defense weapon operational to protect Earth from the insectoid Kantos invasion. She has to make this work. She’s failed in the past and people paid with their lives, and she won’t fail again. What she doesn’t need is a big, brawny warrior that Space Corps orders her to work with getting in her way. Finley wants her solitude, not a massive distraction in the shape of a tall, hard Eon warrior.

Security Commander Sabin Solann-Ath is a warrior through and through, like his entire family before him. He’s disciplined, dedicated, and hiding a dark secret he’d prefer to keep buried. He won’t allow anyone or anything to disrupt his control. When he’s ordered to Earth to help with a secret weapon, he vows to do everything he can to help their allies, even work with a statuesque, prickly scientist. He and Finley get off to a rocky start...but when the Kantos send a team of assassins after Finley, Sabin will do anything to protect her.

Sent to a secret facility deep in the Australian desert, Finely and Sabin are drawn closer and closer. She sees beyond the warrior to the man, and he uncovers a passionate woman. But Finley threatens everything Sabin has fought hard to control, and as they fight off the devious Kantos, they both will face the demons of their pasts.

Action and romance!

What a fun ride. There are a few things I know I will get when I read an Anna Hackett story- strong, smart women and fun alpha males. Sabin is an Eon warrior sent to earth to assist Finley as she develops a satellite laser system to keep out the Kantos, a bug like race that is trying to decimate Earth and other civilizations. Anna Hackett’s books have a formula including an inevitable “uh oh” moment towards the end of the book right before the HEA but darn it, I can’t stop myself from getting nervous for the couple still. Haha but seriously, this is a well written, fun series and this book just adds to the overarching story. I can’t wait for the next one!!

The narration by Vivienne Leheny is amazing- she's such a fantastic narrator. i've listened to her narration for Anna Hackett's other series and always find myself drawn into her narrations.

Dr. Delgado and her Security Commander

Dr. Finley Delgado has the burden of being the premier weapons scientist on earth's Star Storm defense team. This means she has no time to waste on others getting in her way, including Security Commander Sabin Solann-Ath. It takes some serious situations and close quarters time together to realize that everything and everyone is not what they seem. Oh, and some space adventures, abductions, and resilient lizards too.

Love the characters and the storyline development. Kept me on the edge of my seat.

Brain and Brawn come together to save Earth

This book was a great addition to the Eon Warriors series. We get to see more of the Earth's defense systems along with of course some space travel. Sabin isn't quite like other Eon Warriors and that's a good thing. Finley is smart but reserved and determined to do things on her own. Lucky for her saving is there to help her along the way. This book has some interesting new aliens and set us up for the next book in the series. I would highly recommend the previous books in the series although I don't think that it's 100% necessary to understand what's going on. The narration was fabulous and I can't wait for the next one.

Storm of Eon!

Anna Hackett’s creativity and descriptions of the characters help you to visualize the scenes as if you’re looking at a movie! Finley and Sabin finally meet in person instead of video conferencing and must work together to save Earth from their common enemy! Finley frustrated me at first with her fears but I realize that moving outside of your comfort zone to experience something new can be overwhelming for anyone! Sabin was compassionate and encouraging when Finley wavered with what to do. Although they were polar opposites, they worked well with one another and cemented a connection that develops into mates. Vivienne Leheny’s narration is fabulous as always! Looking forward to the fall of the Kantos!

Mostly what the doctor ordered

The formula continues with MCs who aren’t looking for love, but at least this time it’s because they are afraid they can’t have it instead of the “warriors don’t need love” mentality of the last few books. I wish Finley wasn’t so body conscious, but I suppose she is a welcome change from the last few books which all featured lady soldiers. Finley is at least a smart doctor and not merely a damsel. There’s less nooky in this one and even less interactions with the previous book’s couples, which is unfortunate. And, there’s that weirdly random formula thing where the author has an alien animal show up to provide some cuteness and to help save the day. I feel like only the first three and the next book 8 had enough unique elements to be worthwhile. Still, on sale, these are quick, crunchy Pringles listens.
