About this listen

USA Today best-selling author Claudia Burgoa finishes an emotional rock-star romance duet where second chances between soul mates could make the difference between love and loss.

Karma is a...she’s not nice.

It’s been 10 long years since Jacob and I parted ways.

I moved on.... Well, at least I thought I did.

That was until I’m asked to clean the image of Jacob Decker.

Rock star, playboy, womanizer JC Decker.

He’s spoiled, rude, and inappropriate.

I shouldn’t take the job, but I need the money.

I swallow my pride and work for him.

Closely.

Too close.

That’s when I uncover the wounds he hides.

The scars underneath his dismissive attitude.

And his shattered heart.

Can I just walk away when I’m about to find the man I once loved?

Strangers in Love is the conclusion of the highly angsty Somehow Everlasting novel duet.

HEA!

Another audio approval and continuance from my previous review about part 1 of this duet. Joe Arden and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker again sold me on the emotions and connection to these characters.

This book picks up several years later and the emotions are running even higher in this story. They have been through a lot in their years apart but it's unquestionable that they are meant to be together.

Let me tell you though these two are hard headed and stubborn. I was so annoyed with them at points lol but in all reality they went through so much crap, so it's understandable how guarded they are. Thanks to their family and friends they are able to find a way to get along. It ends in a HEA and is so heartwarming.

Thank you again @foreverandalwayspr and Claudia Burgoa for allowing me to listen and review this duet.

Love the Decker family!!

The conclusion to Pria and Jacobs story was great but there just wasn’t enough of it. Pria has grown into such a strong woman but it was nice to see her vulnerability as well, especially in the face of so much loss. Jacob is learning to cope with his own loses which highly affects his reunion with Pria. There were times and details in this second book that do feel rushed but the overall storyline is a good one. There is great closure and we even get to revisit Ainsley and Mason and get some much valued progress in their relationship as well

The narration was great. Joe Arden, as always, was amazing. He has such a versatile voice and embodies Jacobs character so well. He was able to adapt to the different stages and emotions his character goes through and portrays that so well in his performance. Stephanie Nemeth-Parker is new to me. She was so good and has a beautiful voice that is so easy to listen to. She has quickly become a newly loved narrator of mine.

What an emotional rollercoaster

This is the conclusion of the Somehow Everlasting Duet. If you haven't read Almost Strangers, book one in the duet, then STOP as it needs to be read before this book.
This book was everything I was expecting and so much more. Jacob Decker and Pria Walker’s continuing story was just as emotional as the first book, just like riding an emotional roller coaster. It drew so many emotions out of me that I felt as though I have been through the ringer.
The narration by Joe Arden and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker was spot on. Their voices are easy to listen to and they certainly did justice to this emotional roller coaster of a listen.
There were moments that I feared neither of them would get the happily ever after that they deserved. Jacob and Pria are two halves of a whole and while there were moments where I doubted they would get their happily ever after, they were destined to be together. Claudia Burgoa ripped my heart apart and then put it back together.
A heartbreaking, emotional and fitting conclusion to a beautifully written duet; it left me with one heck of a book hangover.

Loved this second chance emotional romance!

Strangers in Love by Claudia Burgoa is book 2 in the Somehow Everlasting Duet. Book 2 is about growing, learning from the past, and healing. I love that Jacob and Pria get a second chance ten years in the making. Their road to HEA isn't easy, and they face many challenges. However, once they finally learn to trust and love each other, their fated chemistry is undeniable.

Joe Arden and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker once again narrate this audiobook. With these two narrating, I felt completely immersed and lost in the story. Stepanie Nemeth-Parker once again shines as Pria, showcasing her vulnerabilities and determination to take care of her family, and learn to love Jacob Decker all over again. Joe's portrayal of Jacob hit me all in the feels showcasing his past pains, wants, and dedication to Pria and making himself a better future.

Overall, I really enjoyed this duet! If you are a fan of a heartfelt, emotional second chance romance that will make you feel all the things, then you will love Strangers in Love. I always look forward to more from Claudia Burgoa.

So Much Better in Audio

I loved this book when I read it but listening to Joe Arden and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker bring HEA for Jacob and Pria was epic. Their journey getting there was sad and tragic. It took them ten years to find their way back to each other.

Part 2 their story concludes

Part two of this duet has taken us on a rollercoaster of a ride. In part one Jacob and Pria met and Jacob was head over heels for her. Life happened and things went haywire and they went their separate ways. Now we are picking back up where they are back together in business rather than love; it is still an emotional ride. Jacob has dealt with loss and has a lot of baggage to get through, Pria has grown up and had to deal with tragic events as well so they are not the same innocent young people from before but maybe they can find each other again and survive together.

Joe Arden and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker did a great job in this duet.

This is not a sweet love story but it is rather a look at how hard life is sometimes and how we must move forward to survive.

An emotional conclusion

Strangers in Love is the second part of the Somehow Everlasting Duet and picks up right where we left off on a bit of a cliffhanger in book 1. Years after their college whirlwind romance, and after a couple of almost run-ins, Jacob and Pria finally find their paths crossing. And there's no avoiding each other now as Pria is hired to help polish up Jacob's playboy image.

This book was also a quick and easy listen, as was the first. There's a lot of angst as Jacob and Pria deal with the years of history that they've missed out on in each other's lives, while also navigating this new relationship, as they were not the same people of memories.

At times, I feel that there was a lot of telling, not showing, and considering the books are on the shorter side, I feel like it was a missed opportunity to dive more into the characters and relationships. I never felt truly connected with the characters, and I would have loved to have had a few rockstar moments in the books. Overall, it was an interesting story, and the audio was very well done.

Joe Arden seriously can do no wrong in my mind, and his narration was wonderful as Jacob. This was my first time listening to Stephanie Németh-Parker, and I thought she did a lovely job as Pria, bringing both the humor and drama to her performance. I look forward to listening to more from her in the future.

Absolutely perfect!

I don’t think any couple has ever gone through as much as Jace and Pria. Man, had me in my feelings. Their HEA couldn’t have been more perfect.

Strangers in Love: Somehow Everlasting Book 2

🎧🎧AUDIO REVIEW🎧🎧

OVERALL: 5 STAR

ALC provided by Forever and Always PR for an honest review

PERFORMANCE: 5 STAR

Narrated by Joe Arden & Stephanie Nemeth-Parker. Outstanding job from both narrators. Joe sometimes lets his narration speed up like its running downhill (lol) but I didn’t even notice with this duet! WELL DONE!

STORY: 5 STAR

You can’t read/listen to Almost Strangers without reading/listening to Strangers in Love and vice versa and since they’ve been published many moons ago (lol) I’m going to review the duet as one.

I’m in love with Jacob and Pria and no one else can have them. They are mine.

Phew! That felt good getting off my chest LOL I mean these two are the embodiment of *happy sigh* with a dash of *rip my heart out why don’t you* and a sprinkle of *light and hope*. Their journey was emotional and more uphill than any two people should endure, but it was cloaked in hope which made it endearing and captivating for me from the very beginning!

My personal journey with the Decker family didn’t start strong, but Jacob and Pria did an excellent job of bringing back some of my lost love! There are circumstances in both Jacob and Pria’s personal worlds that were handled with respect to their realism. This is realistic fiction at its best. Even though this duet has been published for a while, I am sure there are a ton of readers out there who have yet to experience it so I won’t be giving any details on said circumstances.

I love how Jacob and Pria fit like two puzzle pieces. Jacob’s pursuit of Pria was utterly charming and put a huge smile on my face and I loved every choice that Claudia made in not just their development as a couple, but as individuals as well. They both grew in this duet by leaps and bounds in my opinion and it was a glorious listening experience for me.

The journey to HEA for Pria and Jacob is not easy and it is pretty much rocky all the way thru but again, no matter what was happening, I believed in them and they always made sense. GAH, I loved these two so much!
