Cozy mystery with recipes!

Eden Lake, Minnesota, has been chosen as the site of the Heartland Flour Dessert Bake off. Bakery owner Hannah Swensen was named the head judge for the contest. High School Basketball Coach Boyd Watson is one of the other judges. Shortly after the contest ends, Boyd Watson is found bludgeoned to death. His wife, Danielle, who was abused by Boyd for years, is the number one suspect. Hannah doesn't believe that Danielle would hurt anyone and sets out to prove that she is innocent. Hannah questions people who were close to Boyd, learning that more than one person wanted him dead.

This is a cute cozy mystery with lots of suspects. I enjoyed watching Hannah and her sister, Andrea, sift through evidence a piece at a time. I also thought some of the recipes sounded delicious.

Hanna Swenson Mysteries

I enjoy book one and now book two. I plan to get through the whole series since I own every book. The first two books were very good.

I’m addicted

I really like these books. They keep me interested and since I watch Murder She Baked on Hallmark which these books are based on I can envision the actors of the series while listening to the audio version which makes it even more delightful.

Standard Joanne Fluke Fare

I have a love-hate relationship with this series, having read or listened to all of the books available so far. I see so much potential for the characters and I feel at home in the world of Lake Eden, Minnesota.
While I do get exasperated with Hannah's grammar policing and sometimes find her a bit put-offish, for the most part I find these stories very entertaining and they always keep my interest.

Not the quite the same as the Hallmark Channel...

I love the fact the novel is not the same as the Hallmark Channel series. The book gives the main and supporting characters depth. Now I can picture the heroine and her sister having an relationship and working together to "snoop."
