Publisher's summary

Was the universe really created in six days? How do we explain galaxies whose light has traveled toward us for over 100 million years? Is the absolute vacuum of space really empty? Doesn't the Bible indicate that it can be torn, bent, shaken, stretched, split apart, and rolled up like a scroll? Is the velocity of light really a constant? What might an entropy profile of the seven days of the creation week look like?

Chuck Missler explores these cosmological issues in light of the inerrancy of the word of God. This includes an exclusive interview with Barry Setterfield, whose controversial discoveries concerning the slowing down of the speed of light may yet disrupt the previous dictums of modern physics.

MIND BLOWING!!!!! Listen to this! Amazing!

I've listened to the entire book twice and parts of it three times now. I also ordered Barry Setterfield's book and several of his DVD's to dig deeper. I've gone online to verify details, including the extra second that has to be added to Cesium atomic clocks every 18 months to keep them in sync with Earth's orbit. Everything has checked out! This research explains how we can have a young Earth and still see the fringes of the cosmos even though they are so far away.

I first came across Barry Setterfield's work in the early 1990's and was fascinated. Unfortunately, I let others dissuade me from the idea that the speed of light has slowed over time but Mr. Setterfield has kept going and the new evidence I had not seen before is VERY convincing. He has even gone so far as to develop Zero Point Energy theory that explains why light has slowed to its current speed as well as a number of other "mysteries" physicists are struggling with today. His theories predicted stars and galaxies formed much faster and therefore earlier than adherents to the Big Bang Theory of Inflationary Model before the James Webb Space Telescope confirmed his predictions! Predictive power is required for a theory and the James Webb images have moved Barry Setterfield's theories ahead of any other cosmological model today in my opinion! Einstein's General Relativity wasn't widely accepted until observations confirmed gravity bends light and Mr. Setterfield has now been confirmed in a similar fashion! But, alas, "science" will not change that easily when their philosophical views are challenged. It's easier for many to believe the universe exploded from a singularity, that that explosion paused long enough for the temperature to normalize, and then rapidly expanded into what we see today which includes loads of mythical Dark Energy that we can't find and galaxies that somehow formed around us in equidistant shells, like layers in an onion. (Since they have the same redshift they must be the same distance away according to Edwin Hubble's theories.). It also includes a rapidly expanding universe in which the expansion is accelerating except for the fact that their is NO expansion here on Earth. None. Zero. Zilch. Nada. But "science" says that is because we are in a gravity well where space must not be able to expand.

However, Mr. Setterfield has postulated that the redshifts are not from a Doppler effect but from a change in the speed of light itself due to an increase in the Zero Point Energy. Spacetime expanded in the past but the redshifts are quantized (they are all a factor of 2.68 apart) which indicates the light from farther away objects slowed in transit, not that they are moving away from us! We should see a continuum of values if the redshifts were from the Doppler effect but we do not.

It is a fascinating book and I will probably listen to it again. I cannot recommend it enough to Nerds/Geeks like me who wonder how we can see light from objects that are billions of light years away when the Earth is less than 10,000 years old. Wow!

Awesome book

Very interesting topic and easy to listen to and understand. It isn’t ‘dumbed down’ but it is easy to understand.
