Publisher's summary

Stronger Than Before is the first complete guide to supporting yourself through breast cancer: physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Divided into three parts, this audiobook is the self-care bible for breast cancer, created by a breast cancer survivor.

Part one introduces listeners to the language of their illness, explaining the different types and stages of their diagnosis, and outlines the standard treatments they are likely to be offered, as well as the alternatives. This section also includes practical tips on asking doctors the right questions and dealing with the stress of hospital visits.

Part two looks at the illness as a transformative journey, exploring the breast cancer personality and how to start unravelling unhelpful emotional patterns and behaviours. Listeners will learn how to manage their emotional bandwidth while in treatment and, most importantly, how to create meaning from this experience, to live more soulfully and find their purpose - discovering the potential for post-traumatic growth within the illness.

Part three explores life after breast cancer, covering reconstruction, an anti-cancer lifestyle to prevent recurrence, and how to leave the identity of a patient behind and move into a post-cancer mindset. This includes advice for friends and family, too.

This is a practical, holistic handbook for every stage of the breast cancer journey. Wherever the listener, or their loved one, is on that journey, it has helpful information, advice, tips, and techniques to surviving and thriving stronger than before.

Thank You Ms. Porter!

This book has some great ideas about coping with a breast cancer diagnosis. It gives permission to be pro active and a partner in the treatment. It made me feel stronger.

Priceless and extremely helpful.

I loved this book. my diagnosis is new and as I began my journey the information Allison shared in this book fed me information that I felt was an honest experience. she is right, the doctors (not all), probably because they get numb from having the same conversations repeatedly and come from a non effected view, do leave out a lot of information than that of the diagnosed. This book really helped me identify questions to even ask my doctors, and brought to light so many other questions I hadn't even considered. Allison brings alternative means of comfort and above all confirmation I need to put myself first, which is hard for me, and other behaviors that might have even brought me to this place of having to deal with cancer at all. This book answered so many questions and was a real eye opener for me. I highly recommend this book for anyone dealing with breast cancer or even loved ones who are in your support system for someone who has it. thank you Allison.❤
