About this listen

Suffer the Children presents a terrifying tale of apocalyptic fiction, as listeners are introduced to Herod's Syndrome, a devastating illness that suddenly and swiftly kills all young children across the globe. Soon, they return from the grave, and ask for blood. And with blood, they stop being dead. They continue to remain the children they once were, but only for a short time, as they need more blood to live. The average human body holds 10 pints of blood, so the inevitable question for parents everywhere becomes: How far would you go to bring your child back?

Great Horror story

I was looking for a new book to listen to for the Halloween season and was recommended this. I have read the author before and like him and Bray is one of my favorite narrators so I got it. This was a very good story that shows just how far parents are willing to go, to try to spend more time with their children.

great book

I love this book! Great voice and acting. I found myself just sitting in my car listening to it when I should have gone in the store 15 mins ago! A must listen.

Super Dark

The tone of this book turns dark fast and spirals from there. Lots of chaos and broken sanity. If you like that sort of thing, this is a great book.

unique apocalypse premise

RC Bray gives an excellent performance as always. You know it's a good listen if he's narrating.

And this was a great horror book. It shows how far people would go for their children, and whether they're even worth saving if their humanity is far gone.

The twist at the end!

It started out a little slow but it gained momentum by the middle! R.C. Bray is one of my favorite narrators!

WHOA!!!!

Listened to this in the Audible plus catalog. This Book was crazy! I Truly enjoyed it. What the kids turned into in the end was unexpected, but made the book so worth listening to.

Absolutely chilling

What other book might you compare Suffer the Children to and why?

The book actually reminded me of the movie "Blindness" (2008) in the tone of it.

What about R. C. Bray’s performance did you like?

RC Bray is a favorite narrator of mine - he never fails to bring forth the right emotion and voice to the story and characters.

Any additional comments?

Absolutely chilling look at parents, children, and parental actions/responsibilities. The writing is great and the narration is spot on and excellent. I found it an interesting study on what parents are willing to do for their kids. Pretty horrifying stuff. Definitely check this out if you aren't easily shaken by children in horror settings.
