About this listen
In Suture Self, Judith McMonigle Flynn is scheduled for a hip replacement. Instead of looking ahead to her new mobility, she's worried. "Routine surgery" recently cost a local actress and a star baseball pitcher their lives. Though Judith smells malice, she successfully survives her operation - but another patient isn't so lucky.
Stuck in this chamber of Hippocratic horrors, Judith feels compelled to get to the bottom of what could be the worst malpractice case ever recorded...or perhaps something much more sinister. The worst diagnosis of all is the one that suggests Judith's curiosity is terminal...and that a killer is saving a last lethal dose of medicine for her.

Fun Cozy
I’ve read the entire series and it was fun to hear and meet the characters in this audible telling. Some of the characters are a little silly and the story is farfetched but fun none the less.

A very nice surprise
I wasn't sure I would like this book because of the title. This is my first Mary Daheim book.. Even after reading the intro, I was still ambivalent. Anna Fields took some getting used to as well. But the characters, plot and voice grew on me and I enjoyed listening to the antics of Judith Flynn and her family.

Hospitals can be dangerous.
The story seemed to be longer than the winter storm it took place in and the medical procedures seemed a bit dated but the mystery is had lots of red herrings and a logical conclusion.

A great mystery - not a good reader
If you could sum up Suture Self in three words, what would they be?
Fun. Dangerous. Entertaining.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Suture Self?
When Judith and Rene realize what's going on at the hospital.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
A lot. I enjoyed the previous book I listened to of Mary Daheim, but it was a different narrator. This narrator's voices were not good. The main character's husband who supposedly lives in the Pacfic Northwest, sounded like George W. Bush. I won't buy one she reads again.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
As usual with the B&B series, it was entertaining, dangerous and fun.
Any additional comments?
I hope you put more of the B&B series on audible, but please use a different narrator. Everyone sounded like a man with a hoarse throat.

Funny, and fascinating.
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were really funny and interesting. The story was very convoluted. How she figured out who did it was way beyond me. Anna Fields did a great job of narration.

Exceptional Mystery
as usual, Mary Dsiheim charms and teases her fans with witty humor and suspense.
Knowing how often she adds bits of truth to her stories, I wonder how much Mary's real life dear cousin resembles Rennie.
Of course, like all her far fetched tall tales, this is a work of fiction from Mary Daiheim's ripe imagination and wit.
Enjoy.

Health Care
This story gave a great twist to relationships, and murder investigations. I so fell in love with the cousins Judith and Rennie. They were great foils for each other
I laughed frequently throughout the adventure and love the way Judith came up with the answer.
It was so worth the time to travel along in this journey
