Publisher's summary

Joanie Bigbee, cupcake baker extraordinaire, likes to keep her options open - and she's good at it. She's started and sold some 30 businesses in her postage stamp-sized Tennessee town, and at the moment she can be found in a short skirt and go-go boots, selling cupcakes out of the back of a converted Volkswagen van. What she moves on to next is anybody's guess. She knows better than to be tied down. In any way. She's watched every woman in her family fall head-over-heels, only to find herself wondering how to pick up the pieces when love is lost. When Nick Dalton shows up at the groovy cupcakery, all Joanie wants is a taste; a fling with no strings suits her just fine. For Nick, a bite is not enough; he wants the whole cake: a big house, a family, true love. But love only makes you stupid, right? Joanie has to decide whether to follow where her free-spirit leads…or hold on to the sweetest thing she's ever known.

Yummy Goodness

Joanie & Nick's characters are brilliantly delicious in this book. Their relationship sweet and a little childish in the beginning and end up fun and hotter as it grows. Joanie hold's on to fear a little too tight but it takes a strong, loving man like Nick to break through the brick wall she built around her heart. The narrator does not vary the male voice enough to distinguish each male character represented. Awesome...I loved it!

Nice

Nice addition to the series. Didn't really care for how indecisive Joanie was. Her back and forth with Nick although a bit understandable, for me it was a bit overboard. I mean thank goodness for Nick's patience geez. Nice to see how he and Cody are coming into their own as brothers. Job well done Kim Law.

Even better than the first book!

When I finished book one of this series, I was pretty sure that Sweet Nothings was going to be about Cody’s new-found twin brother, Nick. I wasn’t sure who I thought he’d be paired with but I love that it turned out to be Joanie.

Joanie doesn’t do relationships; all of the women in her family have seemed to be cursed with bad ones. She finds herself very attracted to Nick Dalton, though, and decides that a fling would be OK. Nick wants more than a fling with Joanie but he’ll take whatever he can get. Neither of them truly expects to fall so hard for the other.

Sweet Nothings seemed to be a little fresher (not dated) to me than Sugar Springs and I loved listening to it. Fun fact: I had about an hour of the book left to listen to and hubby and I needed to run an errand. We often listen to audiobooks in the car together so I filled him in on the basics of the book and we finished listening to it together. He’s a good sport but he also enjoyed listening to the ending.

I think Natalie Ross did an even better job performing this story than book one. Now I’m looking forward to finishing the series soon.

Sweet everything

Joanie first met Nick at Christmas last year. He was instantly attracted to her, but she held her feelings back due to the supposed Digby curse. She hires him to repair and remodel her Grandmother's house as she needs to sell it to pay her Grandmother's bill at the board and care home. This is a storm with tons of warmth, humour and self grocery. Very good narration.

This is my favorite of this series. I loved Joanie's quirky personality and Nick is a wonderful hero. So glad I found this series!

"Delicious Abs"

What did you love best about Sweet Nothings?

These are very light romance stories that make you feel good

What did you like best about this story?

Our heros, catapiller, bobcat,and Boss

Have you listened to any of Natalie Ross’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

She does all the voices well, but she makes the men vey yummy

Any additional comments?

This is a series and is a bit more enjoyable if heard in order. All the women are independent but have emotional doubts. The Davenports are my fave as they have a bit more story than just emotional back story.

Don't waste your time

Completely predictable and disgustingly sappy. Boring. Can't believe I listened to the entire book. The narrator was singsongy and made me cringe. Not recommended
