Publisher's summary

Artist Clay Cahill retreats to her hometown of Pine Cone, Georgia, when she’s betrayed by a woman she thought cared, and the pressure of the New York City art world becomes too much. Setting paints aside, she takes a job at her grandfather’s garage, seeking the restorative comfort of small town life where women are sweet and life flows as slow as molasses.

Manhattan art gallery owner River Hemsworth is preparing for a show when she’s informed her aunt has bequeathed her a local gallery in Pine Cone, a place where the idea of fashion is anything with a Carhartt label. En route to review inventory and unload the property quickly, River wrecks her car, and Clay comes to her rescue.

If River can convince Clay to start painting again, she may be able to pull off the show that will make her career and quench the desires she never expected to feel again.

good story, narration okay

good story but not my favorite narrator. They didn’t sound very Georgian. The sound more north east. And I don’t know it was kind of a struggle to figure out her rhythm.

Good story but...

I think the narrator is everything when listening to a book. It can really make all the difference. I'm sure this story was much better than it came across. It was a good romance.. I just don't understand why they keep having AJ Ferraro narrate books with any kind of Southern notes. One of her main characters reminds me of a gangster in the old movies. It's just a strange thing she does that's more big city than Southern,. I can't quite place it or describe it correctly but it isn't pleasant. I did get through it though.

I want to live in Pine Cone, GA

The characters, setting, and storyline are believable. I loved the stories and the way the three friends remained close since high school. Loved the book and loved the series.

Nice

I am fast becoming a Missouri Vaun fan. This is my second book of hers and I have enjoyed it as much as the first one of hers I listened to. I really hope that they bring more of her work to audio. She is a great writer and she should be in audio.

Buy it

This series is a great romance story following 3 lifelong friends. Buy them all and enjoy the story. I loved the small town that seems so accepting and warm. There are steamy parts but the romance of it all is what kept it interesting.

Start of a great series

Really enjoying this series about small town romance where best friends always have your back and everyone knows your business. When River, the owner of a New York Art Gallery, comes to town to settle her aunt’s estate she doesn’t anticipate almost rear ending a horse trailer and almost crashing into the town’s beauty shop. When Cash shows up with her tow truck River is mesmerised. Can River earn Cash’s trust after Cash had previously been crushed by a New York Art Gallery owner? Great narration and story.

Interesting

Well written, but not exciting. I read better book and AJ Ferraro narrated better other books...

Sweet angsty small town romance

Missouri Vaun created some fantastic characters, memorable moments and enough angst to make lovers of a good dramatic romance happy readers.

AJ Ferraro wasn’t a good match for the book. The narration wasn’t bad, I just felt like the accents and actual voices didn’t match the.
