Publisher's summary

This is the first story in the Tarzan adventure novels. The legend begins when Tarzan’s parents are placed on a jungle shoreline by mutinous seamen. Here they establish a crude residence and survive for a time until attacked and killed by a band of apes. But one female ape rescues the baby, takes it for her own, and raises it among a large socially organized tribe of great apes. The baby grows to be a noble man whose great strength and keen senses compel the world around him to bend to his might according to the “law of the jungle.”

Just as I remembered

Would you listen to Tarzan Of The Apes again? Why?

I read this series many years ago when I was a wee tyke. I thoroughly enjoyed it then, and I wondered if it still would be as entertaining for me now. It is indeed, and the reader does a good job which helps make it so. I will listen to this again.

What about David Sharp’s performance did you like?

He has a great accent and it fits the time of the story.

Great narration

David Sharp is one of the best narrators, and my favorite. Any new books I search for him as the narrator.

not very good

The narration with this audio book is just terrible. Mr. Sharp sounds completely disinterested in what he's reading. I wish that I could permanently remove it from my device. Why they would choose this to go with the free kindle edition is beyond my understanding. & I can't seem to get rid of it despite having another far superior audio book of Tarzan in my collection because it seems tied to the kindle book.

Classic but dated

Would you try another book from Edgar Rice Burroughs and/or David Sharp?

Yes, It's a light and fun story. It's also interesting in that it is so iconic.
