A journey into peril.Cyrsania, high priestess of the Temple of Paladine, is blind to the beauty of the world but not to the joy of her faith. Lately, though, her communion with the god of light has become distant. Now a mysterious stone has come into her possession. Its power compels her to undertake a merilous quest, accompanied by a strange band of companions.Together they endure the burning heat of Kyrnn's most violet summer as they struggle toward their destination: the Temple at Neraka.

If they reach it, their world will be transformed forever. This novel, set in the time of the Chaos War, brings to life the story of Crysania, a Revered Daughter of Paladine, and Dalamar, the dark elf.

Pleasant surprise

Yet another surprising book in the Chaos War series :-)

I avoided this book for years, as I've never liked Crysania. In fact, I've always hated her.

But this book redeemed her in so many ways!

I won't say I loved the book, it does have a few issues. But all in all, very glad I finally read it.

For anyone who doesn't like Crysania, I highly recommend this book. It will change your mind.

Good story terrible narration.

Once again great story horrible narration. Stop doing voices and learn how to pronounce the names of the characters and lands!

great story, but

Great story, but I can’t stand the narrator, AGAIN. Why do narrators think they have some kind of license to try and act out the dialog? NO NO NO. Just read the dialog, I can’t stand your fake female voices, your wanna be ethnic characterizations, and most importantly, don’t yell at me, no matter what the story is doing. The volume of your voice should never peak. I may have, hopefully, fallen asleep, as this is something I use Audible for, and if some turd narrator starts acting out the scene with their flunky acting skills, and begins yelling, and wakes me up, I’m returning it. Get a clue ppl.

The first bad book in the dragonlance series

This story is probably a 3/5, you could continue on and know nothing else about this book and be just fine. It adds next to nothing to the storyline. Furthermore, the narrator of this book SUCKS at voice impressions. He has a beautiful voice, but as soon as he imitates anyone else he completely breaks their character. All of the women are whiny, all of the men are way too stoic and mysterious. The gods are a total joke and whisper the whole time. Spare yourself this one.
