About this listen

The disciples of the Machine God, the Cult Mechanicus are on the front line of the Quest for Knowledge. Tech-priests lead their forces of augmented warriors and battle-automata into battle with the Omnissiah's foes in defence of His secrets. Magos-Explorator Omnid Torquora orchestrates war against the Iron Warriors for control of a long-lost forge world. With skitarii legions and maniples of battle-servitors and robots at his command - not to mention the mighty god-machines of the Titan Legions - victory is within his grasp until treachery threatens to end his dreams of conquest.

Very good Ad Mech sequel.

It was a good follow up to the first Ad Mech book. Good to see a smooth continuation.

Excellent for fans already invested in Mechanicus

As someone who has read and listened to quite a bit of lore and as someone who owns this army on the tabletop I personally quite liked this one. However if you're more of a space marine fan or enjoy more down to earth human storylines you will be found wanting with this particular piece due to it taking it's time to get started and its main character showing very little humanity till about half way through. Other than that it's a solid piece.

Very enjoyable

i very much enjoyed this title, and the first book was awesome as well.

i would recommend these two books to anybody that loves warhammer 40k. I'd even suggest it to non-40k fans also.

A few issues, but Praise the Omniessiah!

Better than the first book but still pretty average compared to other 40k books. Separating it into 2 books does hurt the overall narrative especially if someone only reads the first book.

The best part of both books is the fights! what it lacks in narrative complexity and really deep moments, it makes up for in action packed thrilling combat! Sanders does a great job using the Admech arsenal to create some of the most memorable action sequences in the Black Library! You really feel the terrifying power a single Skittarius or a blessed Tech Priest wields. While also showing how they forces of the Omniessiah wage war.

Despite the pretty linear story, some what repetitive descriptions and a few audio issues this series is great for anyone who loves the Admech or wants to get into the faction!

holy Mars this was AWESOME!

As a space marine fan boy I have often scoffed at other factions, even chosen to be ignorant of what they had to offer just because. I started a journey with the mechanicus because I thought the models were cool and this series took me to a whole new appreciation of the Warhammer universe as a whole and how painstakingly difficult it must be to have such a wonderful story with relatable characters that are yet so fantastically over the top is insane. I felt the frustration of the Stryker unit and the cool steely calm of the arch magos omnid toqura? please forgive me it's an audio book. the narration of course was on point. really drove home the entire journey for me, very well done product and I look forward to listening to the epic again.

Another meh ending for the Mechanicum

It seems that the bulk of Mechanicum stories that I've read all end with the same meh ending. Everything, and everyone gets closure, but that's it. No promise of gaining anything good for the mechanicum. If anything just another net-negative loss for the faction, and humanity as a whole. The story is good, don't get me wrong. Just wish there was a direction towards an over-arching faction at play.

Great narrator. Great book.

Great book that really shows off how the Adeptus Mechanicus thinks and acts. The narrator did a fantastic job with this book.

Cant wait for the third!

epic story of mechanicum struggle in the face of the odds... little sad about what happened to Stroika Unit buuuuuttt he had an arc so did everyone actually everyone in here who didn't die had some solid character development. theres some truly side splitting moments in the dark horror of it all as the protagonist, being as socially inept as he can be just sort of states the truth and it's really great. good read recommend.

Can’t believe they did my boi Stroika like that

Some times it really do be like that.

Other than that pretty decent book that is the other side of the coin compared to Skitarius.
