Publisher's summary

Widowed at thirty-three with two small kids, Beverly Simpson wants someone to blame. Angry, hurt, and full of regret for what she's lost, she rails against a once trusted God and hides her loneliness behind a sassy exterior.

Joe Clark, intrigued by Bev’s irreverent approach to life, stubbornly pursues her. However, the pair have two very different outlooks on life. Joe is a dedicated preacher, while Bev insists she no longer believes in God. Despite being polar opposites, they can’t hide their attraction to each other, but reconciling their beliefs may be harder than they imagined. Will faith and love be enough to mend a damaged heart?

Not Her best Work

I love RObyn Carr and have been listening to lots of her novels. This one was not my favorite. The story was underdeveloped, lacked details and the characters were not as matured as her other novels. I did not realize until the end that it was one of her older novels. I would say her writing has matured over time and her more recent novels have ben fantastic.

Lovely story

Very good narration of a good story. The protagonist's self doubt was frustrating but it was inspiring to see Joe's patience and balanced approach to living a Christian life come through alongside her.

LOVED IT!!!!

I wasn't sure how this book was going to be but it was really good!!! I am a Christian and as a Christian you have to have a sense of humor and not gasp every time someone does or says something that you feel is wrong. I thought that a lot of this book was hilarious and laughed out loud at the things and times things were said. I would definitely suggest this book to others!

Narrater’s male voices are awful

Why the lisp for all of the males in the story? Plus they all sound the same. It’s distracting.

She got on my Neves

I ended up not liking her. She was exhausting. The book cover shows a gal with hair almost down to her butt and the description in the book is of a woman with short hair. Small but annoying.

The pastor and his sinning was real but disappointing. I can understand the initial fall but the ongoing sleeping with her and then getting up and preaching a sermon (week after week) was not in his character. The author did not even show that it bothered him all that much.

The author did show insight into Christian belief in a few areas.

Thoroughly Enjoyed This story

I almost didn’t listen to this story because of one bad review, but I thought I’d try it and if I didn’t like it I could stop listening...I never did. I really enjoyed the characters and the story, it was light and funny as well as dealt with some real life situations and struggles in a good way. I chuckled and I frowned and gasped a couple times while listening. It’s definitely worth the listen.

Robyn Carr does it again!

If you could sum up Tempted in three words, what would they be?

I want JOE

What did you like best about this story?

I would love to think that there really are men like Joe in this world.

Which scene was your favorite?

Don't really have a favorite scene, but my least favorite is Joe, a man of God, continuing to cuss throughout the book
