The Art of Happiness has become the classic guide to the Dalai Lama's enlightened approach to living. In this inspirational new volume, the unique collaboration between the Dalai Lama and the highly respected scholar Howard Cutler returns with a practical application of Tibetan Buddhist spiritual values to the stressful and demanding world we all live in today.
With the Dalai Lama's trademark warmth and humour and Cutler's penetrating mind, the result is a wise approach to dealing with human problems that is both optimistic and realistic, even in the most challenging times.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
The first book, the Art of Happiness is an incredible book. It is full of insights from the Dalai Lama and interpreted by the author. This new book is mostly the author opining his views of what makes for a troubled world with occasional nods to his holiness. What do you think your next listen will be?
husbands secretWho would you have cast as narrator instead of Marc Cashman?
Cashman was okay but Uma Thurmonds dad has a far more spirtual voice. You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
no. The original was wonderfull. I couldnt stand listing to the whole thing and shut it off.Couldnt listent to this

Most importantly, I did not find the narration to be well done. Perhaps I was spoiled by "American On Purpose" where Craig Ferguson expertly reads his own book. That was brilliant. This book, on the other hand, is monotonous - literally.
The book is really the work of Howard Cutler, with some very brief comments drawn from interviews with the Dalai Lama. Mr. Cutler has knitted together a lengthy discussion from precious little real input from His Holiness.
Hopefully the other "Art of Happiness" books are better. Definitely don't start with this one.
Not what I expected?

Almost sounded like Cutler thought he was smarter than the Dalai Lama.
Much more western science than eastern wisdom.
