Publisher's summary

Dear Diary,

William Blake Connor is a stud. He's my brother's best friend since childhood. He was my first crush, and now he's my boyfriend coach. And he says that he's going to help me find a boyfriend as long as I do what he says. Which is all good and well, but I don't know that I want him to be my teacher. Not when his techniques include kissing me in ways that make me think that he's the only one that I want.

My name is Maggie Lane and I'm a dreamer, a thinker, a wanna-be writer, and all I really wants is to meet the love of my life. I can't help it that I go from crush to crush, never finding Mr. Right. It's not that I'm not trying. I thought I would be single forever. And then I reunited with hunky Blake, and he said that he'll be my boyfriend coach and help me snag a boyfriend. He came up with a plan that included teaching me how to flirt, date, and even how to seduce. It all sounded like a great idea at first, but everyone knows that the best laid plans often go awry.

The Boyfriend Plan is a completely revised and rewritten novel that was previously published as The Shameful Diary of a Hopeless Romantic.

Nice story!

Maggie Lane and Blake Connor were friends a long time ago. Blake was her brother's best friend and spent a lot of time with them both. At the time, she thought he was a nerdy, gangly kid, but when she sees him again at the gym he's become a Greek god. Through a series of getting only half the story conversations, Maggie thinks he's somebody he's not. But she doesn't recognize him at all. When Blake first teases her and gives her hints as to his identity, she's truly surprised that it's the boy she knew so long ago. The only weakness of this story is Maggie's character. She is insecure about her weight, lies about, well, just about anything and has little girl dreams not based on reality. Blake is right when he said that he's there to help her grow up. Blake, to me, is the patient, ever-suffering boyfriend who is the voice of reason. I listened to the audible version and Bree Goodwin did a fine job with the narration. She has a well-modulated voice and I could easily tell the difference among all the characters.

Lost in a Romantic cloud

Maggie is lost in her imagination that is clouded by romantic notions with no back bone to stand up for herself, or her wants or her love.
You get to feel her frustration with her life and her feeling of lack of control over her over active imagination.
Her journey to happily ever after is filled with frustration, and laughter as she begins to recognize her weakness for over thinking and overactive imagination.

Great book

I truly did like this book however the heroine, at least to me, lives in a fairy tale and doesn’t always know reality versus what she wants to happen. That is not to stay I didn’t enjoy reading. Maggie needs her Blake to balance her!

Cute and Quirky with a HEA

Can I just start off by saying I truly enjoyed this audiobook? Because I did. This was on point and super easy to follow along. I felt like the voice was perfect. Maggie is a quirky and cute character, and that is what you heard. When she did Blake it was a great transition. This book was a good one to try out if you're new to audiobooks. You never get lost, you can follow along really well and the story was hilarious. Maggie seriously got on my nerves with her choices, but you still end up loving the HEA. Blake just had the patience to be with her; you see how she can be so clueless sometimes, but you just end up getting sucked in. It was overall a great book.

A sweet story from a crazy girl!

Do this is the first Audible from this narrator and author for me. This story was good overall, I did feel like Maggie needed to really grow up... and she went through a lot of growth throughout the book.

There was craziness, sweetness and love! ❤️

Never new what was coming

Maggie is so fun to listen to, what crazy adventure is she going to get into next? Would love to see a sequel to see where the main characters end up. Voice kind of drags some but didn’t stop me from trying to find a few free minutes to fit in another chapter. Would definitely recommend this book!
