Hilarious, cringe-making romp

I really enjoyed this book. Had read it before in print and was interested in hearing how it sounded. The actor had quite a different notion of the character of the narrator than I'd heard in my head, but it was nevertheless worth encountering another interpretation. He's more sinister, not quite so madcap as I'd expected. More menacing. Delightful. One warning: unless you want your kids and old relatives asking you to explain the "c"-word, you might want to listen alone. The punch-drunk language is great; the gratuitous swearing is absolutely crucial to understanding the characters' way of life.

Hilarious

This is a very, very funny book and the narration is outstanding. The british accent and slang is dense and takes a while to get used to. It is by all means worth the effort though: it is funny, witty, and highly original. I hope it will have a sequel!
