Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

good thriller!! Really enjoyed it
Listened to the audio thanks to Leah!!
This was my last book to complete my 100 books in 2024.
It was just what I needed. Intense psychological thriller, kept me on edge.
Had a mature love story included, which I enjoy when reading a thriller / suspense as well.

Who knew there was more than meets the eye?
This book was given to me by the author to listen to and I’m so glad that I was able to get it. I loved the dual POV and couldn’t get enough of the subtle but definitely there issues that no one was getting to until they couldn’t not face them anymore. If you haven’t read this, please do! You will be pleasantly shocked and happy with this book!

Twisty, thrilling, and impossible to put down
Get ready for a wild ride! The Champagne Toast is the kind of book that grabs you from the first page and does not let go. It’s a psychological thriller wrapped in romance, layered with family secrets, and sprinkled with some of the most meddlesome moms I’ve ever read. Leah Orr’s writing reminds me of authors like Freida McFadden and Mary Kubica if you love fast-paced suspense with unpredictable twists, you’re in for a treat.
Misty and Roland’s romance starts off simple enough, thanks to their scheming friends, Marilyn and Scratch. But just when you think you know where things are going, past traumas and buried family secrets come crashing in, turning their love story into something much darker and more dangerous. The tension builds and builds until that champagne toast moment... trust me, you will not be ready for what happens.
One of my favorite things about this book is the dialogue. The witty banter between the characters adds a perfect contrast to the suspense, keeping the story engaging and fast-moving. And the moms? Oh the moms, they bring so much drama in the best way possible.
The audiobook is a fantastic listen, with Annalee Scott and Danny Montooth bringing Misty and Roland to life. Their performances add depth to the emotions and tension, making the story even more immersive.
If you love thrillers that mix romance, dark family secrets, and jaw-dropping twists, The Champagne Toast needs to be on your list. Five stars all the way!
