Publisher's summary

Discover a new series of whodunits by million-selling author Faith Martin. These charming mysteries will have you scratching your head to work out who the murderer is.

Meet Jenny Starling: travelling cook and reluctant amateur detective.

Jenny Starling is working at The Spindlewood Inn for the weekend. It’s hosting a Regency Extravaganza, involving historical costume, amateur dramatics and food.

Leading actress of the amateur dramatic society and reputed man-eater Rachel Norman portrays a doomed noblewoman. But when she turns up actually drowned in the pond, there’s suddenly a murder to investigate. There’s been plenty of trouble at the idyllic country inn. The performers weren’t a happy troupe, and Jenny discovers a simmering romantic tension.

Who wanted Rachel dead and why? Jenny Starling is going to need all her wits to crack this complex case.

This is the seventh in a series of enjoyable murder mysteries with a great cast of characters and baffling crimes which will keep you in suspense to the very end.

Perfect for fans of classic whodunits by authors like Agatha Christie, LJ Ross, TE Kinsey and J. R. Ellis.

Got it on sale!

Impossible for me to do an unbiased review on a Jenny Starling book! Each is excellent and easily stands alone.
Traveling cook Jenny Starling agreed to take over for her friend who is going on a two week vacation. The job is at a lovely Inn in the Cotswolds which is hosting a production by a troupe of amateur thespians. Easy to figure out who the victim will be, but the plot takes some interesting twists and tosses in not a few red herrings. Another fun read!
I requested and received a free ebook copy from Joffe Books via NetGalley. Thank you!
That was June, 2019. Now it's late December 2020 and I got it on sale!
Charlotte Worthing is very good as narrator!

I couldn’t figure this one out

Ms Martin does a great job with the Jenny Starling series. I love that Ms Starling is not a “skinny” cook. Can’t trust a skinny cook!
Thank you for such an entertaining story.

The Country Inn Mystery

I am a fan of the Mystery series by Faith Martin and loved this one too. The murder was good and love the way Jenny Starling solves them with the Detective. The cooking is always interesting too. The narration is excellent.
