Publisher's summary

From New York Times best-selling author Gena Showalter comes the long-awaited story of Torin, the most dangerous Lord of the Underworld yet... Fierce immortal warrior. Host to the demon of Disease. Torin's every touch causes sickness and death - and a worldwide plague. Carnal pleasure is utterly forbidden, and though he has always overcome temptation with an iron will, his control is about to shatter.

She is Keeleycael. The Red Queen. When the powerful beauty with shocking vulnerabilities escapes from a centuries-long imprisonment, the desire that simmers between her and Torin is scorching. His touch could mean her end, but resisting her is the hardest battle he's ever fought - and the only battle he fears he can't win.

not loving the newest books

I wish the newer books were more akin to their predecessor's. I found the heroine whiny and the hero wishy washy. I wanted to love Torin but feel very blah...Gena's writing is still funny though I just want to love the love story too.

My Sign: Cancer.

At last the long awaited book of Torin and in the spirit of LOU it rocks. This book is way better than the last book and was written more like the earlier books in this series. At the end of the last book I was afraid that the girl for Torin wasn't going to be the right woman for Torin, but that isn't the woman Torin ends up with. The Red Queen fits Torin perfectly, but not to worry their romance did not start off without a struggle. I liked Keeleycael immensely she is spunky and full of life. It is refreshing to see someone not afraid of Disease, even if she keeps getting burned by him. As always I'm a fan of LOU series and this book is no exception. I am impatiently awaiting Cameo and Lazarus story, I think there will be fireworks in that story. My favorite book is still Anya's and Lucien's book. Narrator as always does an excellent job with his sexy voice.

All hail the Red Queen!!!

What did you love best about The Darkest Touch?

Max is an amazing narrator! His ability to make you feel everything Gena is putting in to the story adds so much dimension to an already fantastic book! You feel the raw devastation as disease ravishes Keely time and time again. You feel Torin's desperation to save his friends. Above all this you feel the love, pain, humor, and craving!

Any additional comments?

We have waited so long for Torin's book and it was worth the wait! There was so much pain, angst, humor, fear and sickness as would be expected but there was tenderness, fierce loyalty and the forming of bonds that cannot be undone, stronger than blood and based on the family you choose. The Red Queen is the only one powerful enough to beat disease down and stand up to Torin's fears and their story is full of such highs and the deepest lows. Keely fights hard to finally have her dreams come true and it is so much more than she thought she would ever have. Torin could not have asked for or dreamed up a better life partner. Keely challenges him like no other could and together they are stronger than ever!

Touch me Torin

Out of all of Showalter and Belmore's audio renditions of the Lord's of the Underworld series, Torin' s book has been my favorite.

The voices have been consistent, none of the interruption that I have had in some of the other books and by far my fave story line!

Simply AMAZING

This book should come with a warning “GENA SHOWALTER WILL RUIN YOU FOR OTHER AUTHORS”. Torin and Keely has an amazing storyline and Keely is one of my favorite female characters of all time. Showalter is able to create strong, nuanced, layered characters. This book will make you laugh and keep you on the edge of your seat. Also, the beginning with Wilson is my FAVORITE.
